Yeah he's a professional musican, it's his job to get his music out there and keep his name known, same for slash, same for DJ. Doesn't bother me and he did play that well.

well gnr will be touring the USA in feb aparantly and there is a new SixxAM CD coming out....you guys crack me up when you bitch about GnR people doing stuff to get their names out there..you as k why? is ask why the hell not?

I'm not bitching about it, but it's not as though DJ announced the tour is actually happening, or that the SixxAM record is coming, before or after his solo spot. I just found it odd for him to be out there

YEah I don't really care what Slash, DJ or any of them do for promo generally. Something like playing a national anthem is ok and quite cool in my book. Although there are some things that I think are lame, e.g. Slash being on American idol was.

You guys realize musicians from all genres, generations, talent level, promoting or not, get asked/do the National Anthem at sporting events?
Why do it? Oh, I dunno, you are honored to do the song because, you know, it's the NATIONAL ANTHEM!
Slash didn't invent guitar players doing the anthem. Get a grip.
