Re: AFD 100 Amp Launch Video
Sounds niccceeee.....i have a JCM slash from the 90s and that kicks ass, this looks like better again!
Re: AFD 100 Amp Launch Video
MSRP of $2899USD
and thats just the 100w head....no cabinets
Retail is $1999. Still way too much for any kind of amp. I wouldn't pay that much even if Slash himself delivered it to my doorstep dressed as a UPS guy.

Re: AFD 100 Amp Launch Video
TBH i think in the world of kickass sounding valve amps it's not actually overpriced at all.
The real problem is single channel amps are not practical unless you have a roady...I remember gigging once where I had to lug around 3 heads...my JCMslash for lead tones, a regular JCM 800 set back a little for standard rock rhythm, and another head that could do a real clean clean sound.
You do that for like 2 days and you start looking for a more versitile setup tubes be damned.
lol
But slash sounds wicked live...and it's a killer amp, don't get me wrong!

Re: AFD 100 Amp Launch Video
So is the #34 just a gain stage you hit? During the video, youcould be mine is played on the #34 mode, and Nighttrain is on the AFD mode.. The foot switch goes between both, so just wondering.

The way I understood it, it's a voicing option, not really an additional gain stage.
As for the price: over here it's similarly priced as a JVM, which isn't too bad for a limited edition. It's around €1300. I think you guys on the other side of the pond are being fucked by the strong euro and pound.
