Re: MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE: 'We Want To Continue To Put Out Quality Stuf

Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of the New York Post recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
On composing an original exclusive track for the latest title in the "Guitar Hero" franchise, "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock":
"The goal when we went to the studio was to bring something to the game and we also wound up getting something out of the game while supporting the hugely-popular franchise."
"I definitely think 'Guitar Hero' has opened the music world to a new group of people, musicians and non-musicians alike. No matter what your experience is, it's not that difficult to just pick up and play."
"The truth is, if you're a music fan and you don't like MEGADETH, which I find hard to imagine, 'Sudden Death' can take things to a higher level for you."
On his past substance-abuse issues:
"I don't know if we ever get over it (substance abuse problems), for someone who has flirted with life and death and flirted with drug abuse and alcoholism, something gets broken and you never really recover from that. I was in Texas when I looked up and saw a cross and said to myself, 'What have I got to lose,' those six little words were magic and they changed me."
On MEGADETH's future plans:
"We want to continue to put out quality stuff. Think of MEGADETH as the Ferrari franchise, each year they put out the same car, but you never know what it's going to look like and you're just along for the ride."

MEGADETH: 'Five Songs Almost Finished' For Next Album - Nov. 17, 2010
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine revealed during an online chat with members of the band's official fan club, Cyber Army (formerly MegaFanClub), that MEGADETH has "five songs almost finished" for its next studio album. Mustaine is currently going over the new material at the band's Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California with engineer Ken Eisennagel, who previously worked with MEGADETH during the pre-production phase for 2009's "Endgame" and 2007's "United Abominations" CDs.
"Endgame" sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart.
MEGADETH's previous CD, "United Abominations", opened with around 54,000 copies in the U.S. to debut at No. 8. This was more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The System Has Failed" (which landed at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and was a bit less than the 61,000 opening number of 2001's "The World Needs A Hero" (No. 16).
"Endgame" was recorded at Vic's Garage, which was named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character. The CD was helmed by Mustaine and British producer Andy Sneap (EXODUS, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD).

^ Fuck yeah you should! It's a pretty solid album!
I'm really excited for a new album too, chris and dave work really well together, to me it's like the band is finally back to Rust in Peace quality of musicianship.

I gotta be honest, I never really reached deep into the Megadeth catalog, outside of the singles.
I'd really like to
Can any of you fans recommend some songs and or albums I should check out?
Thx in advance

Rust in Peace, Peace Sells, Countdown to Extinction for albums. I'd listen to Mechanix off the 1st album only to hear the Four Horsemen sans slow section but the production is very crappy.
