Big difference between a "singer" and a "rock" singer.
Now, if this list were best front men (total package) it would be in no order:
Axl
Bon Scott
Steven Tyler
Mick Jagger
Freddy Mercury
Best Metal Singer - Ronnie James Dio
Best over all singer - Freddy, Steve Perry, hell, Myles Kennedy is a better "singer" than most of these folks.

Def agree with Axl here. he has a more diverse vocal than anyone on that list and even guys you all are mentioning like Cornell,Bono etc.
No way Axl has a more diverse vocal than Freddie freakin' Mercury. Even Axl would tell you that.

Paul Rodgers isn't on there. If he's not on there, Ozzy sure as shit shouldn't be.

axl rose is a more diverse singer than anyone on that list and that can be proven using music theory.
he uses more resonances of his voice than anyone on that list, mercury included.
frediie mercury was a great singer but different than axl.

Bono never gets mentioned when people talk about how diverse a singer is. Mostly cause he doesn't use it very often but Bono had an incredible falsetto back in the day and even today he pulls off Pavoratti's part in Miss Sarajevo live in concert to a tee almost. Maybe his diversity isn't most people's cup of tea but I thought I should mention it. there isn't anyone on that list who had Bono's falsetto or his ability to blast out opera. Also when people leave Bono off a "best frontman of all time" list I laugh because maybe only Freddie was able to command a stadium of 80 000+ people the way Bono can. Very few frontmen can get the job done consistently for 25 years in a stadium. Bono does it in spades. Still I'm going with Axl as best rock singer ever but to be honest as an actual singer Bono is way better than most of the people on that list. Again though whether it's your cup of tea or whether he's truely a rock singer or not is up for debate.

One question I have is wonder how many people actually know who Frank Black is haha! Not that expect him to get a lot of votes but I just wonder how many people read his name and say "who the fuck is that?"
