Michael Jackson and Akon’s ‘Hold My Hand’ will be released next Monday, ahead of his posthumous album Michael.
The single is a duet with superstar R&B artist Akon, and a hand-written note from Jackson indicated that ‘Hold My Hand’ was to be the first single from the album he was recording prior to his untimely death.
Akon said in a statement: “The world was not ready to hear ‘Hold My Hand’ when it leaked a couple years ago. We were devastated about it. But its time has definitely come; now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song. I’m so proud to have had the chance to work with Michael, one of my all time idols.”
The album, Michael, will feature ten tracks, both new and unreleased earlier songs.
There are guest spots from Akon, 50 Cent, and Lenny Kravitz.
It will be released on December 10.

1. Hold My Hand (Duet with Akon)

When Axl pops his clogs (hopefully not for a long long time yet) you won't be queueing overnight to buy all the goodies from his vault?

Re: Breaking News - Michael Jackson
^ You have me there that I would, but I also see it as sort of tasteless in a way.
I have sort of mixed views.
On one hand, I think an artist should be the one who chooses what they leave to the world. If Michael thought these songs were as good as thriller etc then he would have released them already, but he chose not to. Then he's tragiclly killed and sony steps in, teams him up with dudes like 50 cent, adds a little corporate polish no doubt then markets it like a new album. When if nothing else it should have a disclaimer "michael never approved of any of these songs".
On the other hand, when someone is a musical genious it presents a dilemma. Like I thought Madagascar was one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard back at RIR3, had Axl been taken from us prior to that and of course prior to the album release, should the estate have just deleted the song and confined it to oblivion, when now it can inspire thousands itself? That would be a form of madness.
So it's a real tough basket I guess.
Something about this one just irks me though. Like the estate has a hand written note from michael. But I bet that note wasnt given for purposes of his death. It was planning the songs release in 2008 or whatever, something that he ended up not doing.

I'm gonna be a flat out dick about this...
If Axl dies, we DESERVE that vault. The supporting him over the years despite the lack of the old band, backing his ass up on stuff, supporting CD...
I'm not one of those "Axl owes us", he's a man, and I don't feel he owes me except.... that vault. That'd we're all owed.

^ ahh but this is the interesting question.
Many are upset about Axl continuing on as GNR, but at least he kept his output to a certain standard with the project. Although it a different sounding album, I think the songwriting on Chinese is just as fine as Axl's other efforts.
But we don't know what's in that vault. Maybe it's more hidden TIL's, NR or TWATS or maybe it's Axl rapping the sesame street theme backwards while bucket makes chicken noises.
For whatever reason Axl hasn't chosen to release it yet.
The question is, should the unthinkable happen, and the record label releases EVERYTHING, even ideas that we're half finished or just an experiment...what does that do to the brand and the legacy?
Surely those that are upset about the Slashless GNR would be traumatised further by the Sesame Street EP.
