In March of last year the announcement of @DjASHBA as Guns N' Roses' new guitarist was met with intense hostility. “Where's our new Buckethead?” a section queried. “We want another Finck” others moaned. Quite clearly the latest addition to the GN'R roster wasn't greatly appealing to quite a following of fans; who needless to say had become a little too indulged in the industrial vibe being piped out by the band for over a decade.

A sort of bourgeoisie formed within the GN'R fan ranks which categorically rejected a re-introduction of rock n' roll in favour of preserving the technicality brought forth by members of a bygone era (2001-2006). GN'R fans became alienated from GN'R in its true concept (rock n' roll) and arrogantly opted to withdraw their support from any potential return to the “superficialness” of good old fashioned hard rock.

April became August which developed into November (quite rainy ironically enough) and very shortly afterwards a somewhat revised edition of GN'R showed signs of movement. On the eleventh of December Guns N' Roses took to the stage in Taipei provoking web browsers world wide into seeking whatever information possible. Slowly snippets of reports went West. Gradually a constant theme was established. “Guns N' Roses were back and this time back in a manner complimentary to their rock n' roll roots”. This manner has only evolved into an even bigger monstrosity since December 2009.

Why? Because Axl Rose and his selection team got it right this time. In this instance of GN'R we're presented with technicality (primarily courtesy of Ron Thal), complimented by Dj Ashba's will and desire to please.

Dj Ashba's value to this line-up of Guns N' Roses is dangerous to underestimate. Despite the attempts of several of the world's most talented guitarists only Dj Ashba has successfully filled the gap previously teetering GN'R on the brink of self-destruction. Why you may ask has Dj succeeded whilst others have failed? Well it's quite simple. He's allowed himself to become emotionally involved in the cause of Guns N' Roses, it's a concept he relishes (this is quite evident from his on stage efforts). Not only that but he's almost single handedly eradicated the suspicion which has long lasted between GN'R and its fans, through his commitment to communication.

On the day of Dj's birthday it is appropriate that we acknowledge his indescribable (and often underestimated) contributions in terms of the path to GN'R's eventual world domination. On behalf of the collective GN'R community, have a fantastic day Dj!

Yeah that gave me a chuckle as well. Made me feel like I was reliving 2005 again.

That is the gayest fuckin' tweet.

Why is it these fanboys feel a need to shit on the past members (Slash, Bucket, Robin) in order to promote the current members?

Lame, and predictable at this point.

It could've just as easily said "Happy B-Day DJ, best wishes for a good BJ"

And been said and done.
