Re: 'Wheel of Fortune' contestant pulls off best puzzle-solve ever
One woman's amazing feat of word game mastery on Friday's episode of "Wheel of Fortune" left audiences amazed -- and maybe a little suspicious.
Contestant Caitlin Burke somehow managed to solve a 27-letter, 7-word puzzle with only the letter "L" and an apostrophe to go on. Not only that, but the actual phrase she solved (which you can try to figure out for yourself in the video below) applies perfectly to her situation:
As you can see, Burke's win netted her not just a Caribbean vacation worth about $6500, but the awe of a flabbergasted Pat Sajak, who feigned suspicion (or at least bewilderment) as Caitlin casually brushed off the accomplishment.
While it's not unusual for a contestant to solve a puzzle with only one letter as a clue, it usually happens with a much shorter sentence or phrase. And while Caitlin had the benefit of ruling out the letter "R," eliminated by a previous wheel-spinner, her triumph is incredible enough to have some wondering if she could have found a way to cheat. The simplest explanation, of course, is that she's just that good. (Or that lucky.)

Clearly she's from the future
Re: 'Wheel of Fortune' contestant pulls off best puzzle-solve ever
Given the actual answer i think its plausible.
Consider this:
Your on this game show and trying to pump your self up a bit. you might say to yourself before you spin I can do this. then you think " I've got a good feeling about this". You spin pick your letter. and to quote JR "BAM" Your last real thought is in front of you.
The thing that makes it unlikely is how quick she asked to solve in this clip. And the lack of excitement. I wonder if this is edited to lead the viewer?

I heard this story on The Stern Show and they said she played the game online religiously. Maybe she's just a Whell of Fortune prodigy.
I saw a documentary years ago about the guy who mastered the game Press Your Luck back in the 80's. He studied the board and figured out it had a certain number of patterns and when he could hit the buzzer and be guaranteed big bucks and prizes. He broke all sorts of records on the show and they had to change the game because of him.

Not saying this situation is quite the same, but some people can take these game shows quite seriously and actually become better at them than you'd imagine possible.

I think its great and bad at the same time. if u know it, rack up some more cash before solving it. of course she could hit Lose a Turn or Bankrupt but I would've went a few more times.
I haven't watched the show in years, but do you have an option of answering the puzzle after each spin? In other words, would she have lost her turn if she got it wrong? Because if not, she could've just made an educated guess. There's really nothing to lose in that case.
