Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
I remember seeing that in 1990 and back then it was amazing to see 3D of that quality..not sure how it holds up today 20 years on when everything is 3D.
So is there a soothsayer or notthingham lace on this bad boy? It's such a gamble with Mr Bucket...he's awesome....but there's sort of no knowing what you'll get and i only like some of it.

Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
Not to hijack your thread, but this was on my recommended videos on utube.
Man that live tone kills the studio version...it's so
Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
Monk, there is no Lace or Soothsayer, it's not a shredder album. I'm not sure he'll ever reach those heights again. Those are one-of-a-kinds.
This is more mellow, but still pretty sick. I love one solo in particular. Imagine Colma combined with Population Override.
He is hit or miss, bit I'm more happy buying this than I have been with Bucket CDs for several years, at least.
Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
It sounds spacey and new agey like Colma, but got the live drum feel of PO, not the hip-hopish beats of Colma.
Really, really solid CD. To top it off, the production is light years ahead of the other stuff he's released this year. No more sounding like he recorded in his bathroom.
Bucket has restored my faith in his ability. Just in time. I was about to jump off the bandwagon.
This all sounds great, I love Colma, so I am guessing I am gonna like this album as well then. And yeah, I agree with your bandwagon jumping
Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
damn, this album kicks some major ass!!! can't get enough of it.
As bigbri said, it's the mellow buckethead, so if you enjoy the mellower side then get this album (one way or another anyway )
consider me staying on the bandwagon as well bigbri
Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
Yeah, I've been playing this constantly. It has immediately shot up into my favorite Top 5. This is genius Buckethead at work here. The Siphoning Sequence is just incredible to me.
You're completely right Bri. Finally got around to listening to this, and you were dead on in that it is truely a return to form for Bucket after some lackluster efforts.
I think it blows A Real Diamond In The Rough and Shadows In The Sky out of the water.
This is the true mellow follow-up to Electric Tears. I also love the electronic-influence felt throughout the album.

Re: Bucket's Captain's Eo's Voyage
It's really fantastic and obviously inspired by Michael Jackson. I don't think it's any coincidence his best work of the past three or four years has been the MJ inspired stuff.
Makes you weep to think what could've happened if they'd worked together.
