TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider was interviewed on "Better", a nationally syndicated lifestyle TV show which aims to make your life "better" by focusing on trends, beauty breakthroughs, finances, fitness, sex, decorating and all hot topics that affect your family and relationships. You can watch video footage of his appearance above.
Snider made his Broadway debut on October 11 in "Rock Of Ages" for an 11-week limited run at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street) in New York City. Check out photos from BroadwayWorld.com (scroll down).
Snider has taken over the part of Dennis, the owner of the Bourbon Room, which was played by Adam Dannheisser in the original Broadway cast.
Starting October 19, Snider is hosting the post-show "Rock Senate Hearings," which take place every Tuesday and feature discussions with special guests and "Rock of Ages" cast members.
"Rock Of Ages" is propelled by signature '80s rock anthems popularized by JOURNEY, TWISTED SISTER, JOAN JETT, PAT BENATAR, FOREIGNER, BON JOVI and REO SPEEDWAGON.
The producers described the musical as such: "It's the late 1980s and the final countdown is on for a legendary Hollywood rock club facing its demise at the hands of eager developers. When a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl chasing her dreams land on the scene at this infamous venue, how far will ambition drive them? And will it be lights out for the club and all the regulars and rockers who have made it their home?"

Great interview. He's also very right about how disrespectful the rock genre from the 80's has been treated. They seem to just skip from Zeppelin/Sabbath/Queen-era to Nirvana.
Back in the day, GN'R & Metallica were thought to be legit, and even they seem to have rare mentions anymore these days. The Nirvana circle jerk to this day is unbelievable in the music journalism scene.
Guys, they weren't THAT good. Nirvana gets legend-status, yet Soundgarden struggles to wonder if they can even have a bonafide tour. Faith No More's reunion never could truely get off the ground either.
It's a real shame that solid artists like that can't seem to get past the Nirvana fanboys who don't know anything other than what they read. I highly question how many of them were born before 1990.

I enjoyed nirvana back in the day...i'm talking like 93 and 94 - they had a rawness and energy about them that was really fun. What i don't understand is why people use that to insult other music.
Like I don't think that because GNR is cool metallica suck...so why would I think that cos Nirvana is cool GNR suck....never made any sense to me.
To me the thing about nirvana was that it was fun and simple stuff. But I don't understand how people use them to bash 80s bands and turn it into a competition cos if they do..well.. Dave is a HELL of a drummer but most 80s bands can outclass them on guitars and vocals with minimal effort.
Re: DEE SNIDER: 'Being On Broadway Is Singularly The Most Challenging Thin
Even within grunge, other artists showed their glaringly obvious "above average, not legendary" ability. None of them were even the best within their own genre, with maybe the sole exception of Grohl. Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, & Eddie Vedder all infinitely better vocalists than Cobain. Cornell, Vedder, Jerry Cantrell & Kim Thayil all better writers.
And that's just the "big four". That's not counting the other lesser acts that put them to shame.
AND of all the post-grunge bands that exist today, almost none of them even draw influence, nor copy the format of Nirvana. Almost every modern rock vocalist owes their ass to Layne Staley, and instrumentally everybody's been copying Soundgarden half-as good for over 10 years.
I enjoy Nirvana too, and my problem is not so much using Nirvana to slam other bands, 80's bands, it's the fact of using such a bad analogy to slam other bands. Like somehow Nirvana is some sort of leaps and bounds better band than Slaughter or something. If you're gonna pull some sort of example, at least use one that actually proves your case, like SG, or AIC or PJ, etc.
If anything, Nirvana had more influence on pop & punk than it did rock.
