Re: GnR Band Member Interviews from 2009-10 Tour
I'm with jamester. This board is about Guns N' Roses, and believe it or not, yes it's coming from me, these guys are just as much Guns N' Roses as any of the rest of them if people are gonna acknowledge the current band.
I haven't seen alot of these videos from the new era, specifically 2009-10.
That TMZ video where everyone was talking good about Axl was kinda funny. Apparently he's cool enough, that he's the ONLY celeb they don't talk shit about.
Plus, remember Madagas, we all did kind of tell the new band fans to put their money where their mouth was, and they've done just that. They've pumped some life into this section, and with the tour section merger, it's far more interesting AND positive then it used to be.
Another karma...

D.J. ASHBA: I Am Not Just 'Filling In' With GUNS N' ROSES - May 5, 2010
D.J. Ashba (GUNS N' ROSES, SIXX: A.M.) has shot down reports that he is just "filling in" on guitar with GUNS N' ROSES while he is preparing to release the sophomore album from SIXX: A.M.
In an April 2010 interview with Meltdown of Detroit, Michigan's WRIF 101.1 FM radio station, Ashba's SIXX: A.M. bandmate, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, stated about D.J.'s involvement with GUNS N' ROSES, "He's with GUNS N ROSES. [He] went to South America [with them]... and he's kinda filling in doing that thing right now until we get the… With SIXX: A.M., it's interesting. We're songwriters and producers and we just… we make this music and we do whatever we wanted to. We don't ever really plan on touring. We did tour with Crüe Fest. I don't know what we'll do with this one. Maybe we'll do something. But the music's Number One."
Responding the fan speculation regarding his status in GUNS N' ROSES in the wake of Sixx's remarks, Ashba wrote in an online posting, "I can assure everyone that I am not just 'filling in.' I am very excited about the upcoming concerts and my future with GUNS N' ROSES and I'm honored to be a part of such a legendary band. God only knows the destruction we're planning to do. I hope this clears shit up."
Ashba joined GUNS N' ROSES in March 2009 following the departure of Robin Finck. GN'R frontman Axl Rose stated about D.J.'s addition to the group at the time, "D.J.'s a gifted, energetic guitarist that GUNS N' ROSES is proud to have on board!! We're very excited to have the opportunity to work together. GUNS' radar has silently been aware of D.J.'s presence for quite some time. He brings a fresh approach to our particular brand of mayhem expanding the tapestry of GUNS N' ROSES live. Once D.J.'s name was in the hat, the hat disappeared!!"

Axl Rose Declares War On Ex-Manager
May 18th, 2010 8:54pm EDT
Axl RoseAxl Rose has waged war against former Guns N' Roses manager Irving Azoff, accusing him of attempting to sabotage the rocker's career after he refused to reunite with the band's original members.
Azoff, the CEO of management firm Front Line, originally filed suit against Rose in March, claiming the singer reneged on an oral agreement giving him 15 percent of his earnings from a big money concert tour - a deal said to be worth $2 million.
But Rose has fired back at Azoff, accusing the music mogul of failing to properly promote the band's 2008 album "Chinese Democracy" in an alleged bid to force him to reform the original Guns N' Roses line-up.
In legal papers filed in a Los Angeles court on Monday, the frontman also takes aim at his one-time manager for allegedly lying about a possible joint tour with fellow rock legends Van Halen and mishandling Guns N' Roses' tour dates, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The lawsuit states, "Upon realizing that he couldn't bully Rose and accomplish his scheme, Azoff resigned and abandoned Guns N' Roses on the eve of a major tour, filing suit for commissions he didn't earn and had no right to receive."
Rose is demanding more than $5 million in damages for breach of fiduciary duty, constructive fraud and breach of contract.
The frontman formed Guns N' Roses in 1985 with guitarists Izzy Stradlin and Tracii Guns, bassist Ole Beich and drummer Rob Gardner, but the group only shot to fame after replacing Beich and Guns with Duff McKagan and Slash, and bringing in Steven Adler after Gardner quit.

Audio Interview with RBN Artist Bumblefoot!
(check out website to hear the interview.)
May 24th, 2010 | Author: RockBandAide
There are times when running this site seems more like a job and not nearly as much fun as I anticipated when I first set out to make a site dedicated to all things Rock Band. Than there are times like this that make EVERYTHING worth while! I had a chance last week to interview future Rock Band Network best selling artist Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, who is the current guitarist for Guns ‘N’ Roses. While this will be his first song on the Rock Band Network, if you have played every song on guitar in Rock Band 2, you’ve played song of his contributions on “Shackler’s Revenge,” as well as the rest of his stuff on the “Chinese Democracy” album DLC.
He’s about ready to release his first single, “Guitars Suck,” and if you have been looking for a challenging song to FC, this will be it. In my opinion, most difficult songs that come out for Rock Band aren’t as fun to listen to, but “Guitars Suck” is an awesome song that, while most of us won’t be able to complete it on Expert Guitar, is an amazing song. There’s a reason he replaced Buckethead in Guns ‘N’ Roses!
Anyway, enough about that. Check out the audio interview I had with him directly below, and stick around to check out a preview of his song “Guitars Suck,” coming soon to the Rock Band Network, as well as a gallery of images from his current worldwide tour with Guns ‘N’ Roses!
Thank you very much, Ron!!! For more info about Bumblefoot, check out his official site and his label’s site, Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook. His RBN debut, “Guitars Suck,” is currently in play testing in the RBN here, and look for his second song “Real” shortly!

Bumblefoot
Abnormal
I don’t know exactly when it happened. I think it was sometime in the early 1980’s when some nameless wizard of the guitar (possibly Steve Vai) ran afoul of an evil witch. I’m not sure exactly what happened to cause the witch to cast an evil spell on every wizard of guitar who should follow the nameless one (again, possibly Steve Vai), but my knowledge of witches tells me they are easy to run afoul of. Maybe he (Steve Vai anyone?) had a great grandfather who was instrumental in the Salem Witch Trials, I am just guessing though as I have no tangible proof. Anyway, the curse, as it was told to me, is that though the wizard of guitar will be extraordinarily talented, he will never be able to write a song with lyrics that don’t suck as hard as a 8th grade field trip to a vacuum cleaner manufacturing factory. This curse has proven over the years to be more powerful than the smell at the monkey house of your local zoo and has, judging by the lack of commercially popular shredding guitar players, only gotten more powerful. Enter Bumblefoot.
Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal has seemingly pulled the sacred guitar from the stone and slayed the evil witch who cursed all shredding guitar players everywhere. With his album Abnormal, Bumblefoot achieves what so many amazing guitarists have tried to do before in releasing a great album with lyrical hooks that make the listener feel fish-like and powerless to resist the bait dangling in front of them. This album starts out of the gate like a race horse with a rocket strapped to its back. The opening song “Abnormal” comes across as a fun Punk rock gem with an opening guitar riff that feels like fingertips on your spine until it changes and grabs your spine and tries to rip it out. “Glad to be Here” is a cross between a Polka and Ska with lyrics that are just funny as hell and prove the point that the curse is broken.
I couldn’t be more blown away by “Guitars Still Suck” if Bumblefoot came to my house and strapped me with C4 and then waved goodbye with a pleasant yet foreboding smile. It sounds like what you would get if you put Bumblefoot in a hillbilly shack with a Bluegrass band, moonshine still, and a small yet adequate tape recorder. The album powers through a wide range of styles which all seem to blend nicely together reminding us that Bumblefoot is clearly capable of nearly anything. Remember also that he has somehow been in Guns-n-Roses for 4 years now so far avoiding the trend to be eaten alive by the G-n-R monster that feeds on musicians not named Axl. I wish Abnormal was more of a normal amongst the amazingly talented guitar playing ground. It may take a while for the rest of the wizards of guitar to catch up to Bumblefoot but at least we have something to listen to while we wait.

Bumblefoot Interview
Microfono Blvd. (Spain)
SEPT 2010
Original English interview, May 2010:
Before anything, thanks for your kindness!
Gracias, thank *you*!!
How do you feel of touring again all over the world?
It feels better than ever. Everything feels right.
Is it different this tour with the Chinese Democracy album out than the tour of 2006?
It's so much better now, it feels like it should. I have my own definite guitar parts from the album to play, and all other definite parts, I have the gear, the double-neck guitar, we had time to coordinate our guitar parts, vocal harmonies, it feels like home now.
How was it to play for Lita Ford in 2009?
It was a lot of laughing and good times, spontaneous jamming and trading solos with Lita and her amazing keyboardist (Michael T. Ross). It was organic, it had been a long time since touring like that. With GNR, I have custom-molded in-ear monitors and custom song mixes and our own monitor engineer for the band, wireless for each guitar, a personal tech who assists greatly and is a strong right hand. And if I try to move gear I get yelled at for it, haha. With Lita, we'd fly out to somewhere in Europe or the mid-West US, I'd bring my guitar with a boost, delay and wah pedal in the case, we'd soundcheck in the morning at the venue, there'd be a guitar cable and a rented amp, a rented back-up guitar, we'd get right on stage and do what we do. We didn't bring our own monitor engineer, so it said in the 'tour rider' that we had to have an engineer that spoke English and didn't leave the soundboard. That didn't always work out too well.... we were playing a metal festival in Europe and I had nothing in my monitors, the sound on stage was like an airplane engine, just loud rumble, couldn't make out anything, not even drums. We were all having a tough time. I was trying to get the engineer's attention, no luck. The drummer was trying to get in touch too and at one point threw a stick at the guy, it went flying past his head and he didn't even notice, he wasn't even watching us. That's when I got my foot under one of the monitors and hurled it right off the front of the stage. Was at least a 10 foot drop, probably more. This was our first overseas gig, Jim (Lita's husband) said to our security guy "Did he just kick that monitor off the stage...?" "Yep." "Haha, cool!!" That got the engineer's attention. He quickly replaced the monitor, the new one seemed to be better. They paid attention after that. On stage it's real easy to go from 1 straight to 10 - there should be a term for it, like 'road rage'. "STAGE RAGE" - there ya go, I hereby define the term... "Stage Rage". Hey, let's use it in a sentence. [Begin rant] Sorry about the STAGE RAGE but c'mon man, read the fucking 'tour rider' and try to pretend you give a fuck - we're depending on you to not fuck us, so that we don't fuck the audience with a lesser performance. Fuck me and I'll fuck you harder. [/End rant] Not the first time I had Stage Rage. Axl started calling me "Shank" in 2006 due to my fucking Stage Rage, haha. The cover of my "Abnormal" CD, the guy who's head is a bomb about to go off, with his fingers in his ears...... Stage Rage.
You're very kind with the fans, always signing autographs, taking pictures, etc. How do you feel about that?
That's how I want to be. What is the main reason you perform, entertain? To make people happy, inspire them, to elevate them, to connect each other, to share the same sense of being, the same spirit. So if someone wants to take a photo together, if it's that easy to make some happy, I'm happy to do it. And I appreciate it. Sometimes it's not the best time, when I haven't slept in 30 hours and need to get up to my hotel room or to catch a plane. Sometimes family will visit on tour and my main concern is their comfort, giving them my attention. Sometimes I want to eat or sleep without someone 20 feet away filming me, haha. Sometimes I'm just feeling overwhelmed with life and worn down. But when we're on tour, I never forget that the tour exists because the fans care, their support is what makes it happen. So I make the time for them, whenever I can. It's the least I can do to let them know personally how grateful I am for all they've done.
Changing subject what type of guitar do you prefer, a custom one made by yourself or a Gibson Les Paul?
Les Paul's will always be a classic, but I gotta go with the custom guitars. I've been with Vigier Guitars since 1997, they make all my guitars, the fretless, double-neck, the old 'Flying Foot' guitar, and they all feel great on the hands. There's no truss rod in their necks - instead there's a strip of graphite rock that keeps the necks straight. They never need adjusting, no matter what the temperature and humidity is, the necks are always perfect.
You han been doing many records over the years, but in 2008 you released Barefoot that is an acoustic one, how was it to make that change?
I'm always playing acoustic guitar, I just never did an album of it. I had released "Abnormal", "Chinese Democracy" was about to come out, it felt like a good time to do it. I took songs from my previous albums, and came up with acoustic arrangements of the songs - some stayed close to the original vibe, others were like re-writing the song. There was more room for dynamics vocally, it was the easiest time I ever had making an album. I recorded 4 songs, and took requests from my forum for the last song to record, and started the album with the song they chose.
Is difficult to play in a stage with other 7 musicians?
No, that's easy. Trying to play *Twister* with them is really tough.
What is the difference of working with a band than your guests appearances in other artists records?
Every band or artist I do something with is different, they're all different from each other. Different energy, different situation, different desire for what they want their sound to be. I've been in bands as the writer, singer, guitarist, also as a co-writer of the songs, or just writing guitar parts, or sometimes not playing at all. Sometimes I'm the producer, it's like being a 'music manager' where I oversee every aspect of their music, or maybe just certain aspects, from the start of songwriting, to the final mastering. Usually it's 'hands-on' where I'm engineering, getting sounds, making creative decisions, orchestrating the harmonies and arrangement of parts, which instruments are used and how they should sound. Then there's the most important, capturing the right performance - it's about the passion, the imperfection, the human inconsistency, capturing a moment that may never happen the same way. Sometimes it's about going for perfection and stability. It depends. The song is the boss, we all work for the song. Other times, maybe I'm just playing a guest guitar solo on someone's record - then it's just 30 seconds, or whatever it is, where I listen to the song, get a feeling and just play, and see what develops.
To be a part of the Chinese Democracy era, finally get the record out how does it make you feel as a musician?
It's a unique historic album, I'm proud to be part of it, proud to be in the company of the great people on that album.
What are your favorite bands of all time?
The Beatles and Manowar. Also the Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Frankie Valli, old KISS, Led Zep, AC/DC, Queen, Sex Pistols, Priest, Maiden, Ozzy, Yes, the Who, Floyd, Ramones, Faith No More, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, I'm forgetting a bunch of bands... I think Muse "Absolution" is one of the best albums of the 2000's.
Which new bands have you listened recently?
I've actually listened to a lot of CDs from local bands while touring, bands that gave me their CDs, bands that opened for us, Danko Jones, Khallice, a lot of cool bands... last album I listened to from beginning to end was Fozzy's new album, great stuff!
What is the main difference of work with a international label than with you own (Bumblefoot Music LLC)?
My label is more of just a business name for whatever I do. Really, the label is "Bald Freak Music", started by another 'Ron', Ron Scalzo. He's a musician I've worked with since '96, he started Bald Freak 5 or 6 years ago and we've done this bartering system where he takes care of my distro and bizz, and I take care of the label's musical needs, mixing and mastering, co-writing and performing, things like that. Over the last few years, as we've both had our own various growth spurts it's been more like a see-saw, more of a challenge to keep balanced. But we always find a way. In the past my luck was not so good with labels, usually ended with a sour taste in everyone's mouths. Over the years it's improved. My first album, 'The Adventures Of Bumblefoot' - it was released in 1995 by Shrapnel Records (Roadrunner Records in Europe & Japan), it was an instrumental guitar-oriented album. It's been out-of-print since 1997, people were paying up to $150 for copies of it on eBay. This year Shrapnel is re-releasing the album. They agreed to have me sell autographed copies of the album at BaldFreak.com, and I'll donate $5 from each autographed album to Multiple Sclerosis research. I also made a transcription book of the album - all the TAB, notation, picking, fingers, for every track of every song. It's 200 pages, took 6 months to write. That will be available at Bald Freak also, right now we're checking out printers to manufacture the books, and hopefully everything will be ready by July. I'll be updating everyone on progress through Twitter, Orkut, Facebook and my Forum, and will let everyone know when it's finished, and when it'll be available.
Do you have any cool story that happened during the south american tour?
The whole South & Central American tour is a cool story... a lot of highs and lows, twists and turns, always the unexpected. I can't think of just one, just the acts of kindness throughout the trip. The banners, the gifts - clothes, jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, maracas, home-made GNR Easter cookies! The big groups of people welcoming us everywhere, hangin' outside the hotels playing songs on the acoustic guitar while the fans all sang. And the greatest shows I've ever been part of. A lot of moments where I felt a bond with everyone, those moments were the best part of the tour for me.
Do you have any plans of release a new album in the near future?
Right now my focus is touring with GNR. I have a tough time writing songs while touring, there's a lot of touring right now, so I think an album will have to wait for a bit. Unless I can force something out, or never leave the hotel room between shows and just stay in and try to write & record ideas. I do have a little batch of songs I wrote and recorded last year, I'm just looking for the right singer for them.
Do you have like a top ten of favorite movies?
That's so tough to answer, I know I'm gonna forget a bunch of movies.... aaahhh!! Hmmm.... I'll think of movies that I've quoted in the last month or two, and movies I have to watch if I'm flipping the channels and they're on... Slingblade, Spinal Tap, Goodfellas, Full Metal Jacket, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, every Will Ferrell movie, Matrix, Austin Powers movies, Quentin Tarantino movies, Wicker Man (1973), The Funhouse (1981), the Omen trilogy, Trilogy Of Terror (1975), Clockwork Orange... I'm sure I'm missing plenty. TV... the Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the Honeymooners (50's) and my absolute favorite, the original Twilight Zone (1959-1964)

Bumblefoot says to Brazil: "love you!"
by Bruno do Amaral
English translation by Amanda Cardoso
Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal is an uncommon character. Those who know him from Guns N’ Roses, surely know him as a virtuoso guitar player, since he replaced Buckethead (who left in 2004) in 2006. But it’s his solo career that shows us his versatility. And that’s exactly the side the Brazilian fans will finally get the chance to know more about, with the release of his two latest albums on Mercado Livre’s webstore (click here to visit it).
Normal and Abnormal were released, respectively, in 2005 and 2008, and show opposite sides of a psychological condition that had great influence on Ron Thal’s creativity. Those are only two examples of the guitarist’s vast number of other works, who also sings his own songs (he says he had one year and a half of singing lessons – “definitely helped”, he says).
The exclusive interview below approaches the release of his albums in Brazil, on the Mercado Livre e-shop (the biggest electronic commerce website in South America), and Guns N’ Roses’s recent passage through Brazil, for five shows in March, which left euphoric fans in Brasília, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro.
Currently, Axl Rose’s band counts with, other than Bumblefoot, Richard Fortus and DJ Ashba on guitar; Tommy Stinson on bass; Frank Ferrer on drums and Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman on keyboards and synthesizers. The band is now on tour in Europe, with shows in Finland, Russia and Sweden. After a short break, the band returns to Europe for another 20 dates, including several dates in Spain and UK.
Ron Thal is also re-releasing his first album, Adventures of Bumblefoot, through the Bald Freak label, 15 years after its first release. Other than that, a guitar tab book, with 200 transcription pages, done by the musician himself, is also being released. Both products will be available on BaldFreak.com. Five dollars from every sale of autographed Bumblefoot items will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation.
Thal answered the questions, via email, on June 8th, after a well succeeded show in Oslo, Norway.
How is the tour going on? How it was like to come to South America countries such as Brazil?
I think the South American tour ruined me for all other tours, haha! It was so good, nothing will ever be quite like it...
Did you came up with the idea to put your solo albums for sale here in Brazil and Latin America only after knowing the countries in the recent GNR tour?
I've been looking into distro in S. America for a few years, but there was never a business situation that seemed right. If I sell to a distributor who sells to a store who sells to you, everyone involved will be needing a profit and they'll each be pushing the price of the CDs higher. I'd rather be selling directly to you. I do that with BaldFreak.com, and now with Mercadolivre.com
How could your solo albums appeal for GNR fans who saw you playing with the band in March?
I don't know if my albums will appeal or not, that's up to each person's taste. Anyone is welcome to listen to my music, and see if they like it or not. If they like it enough to want to own a certain album, I'm making it easier for them to get the album.
Why just Normal and Abnormal for now? What's the story behind those two?
Those albums are the most recent, and I'd like to give people the newest music first. The music has some elements of classic rock and punk, the music I grew up with, it's part of who I am. The Normal album (2005) has an underlying concept, about being on mood-altering medication that made me 'normal', but it blocked the ability to be creative and write music. I had to choose whether I wanted to be 'normal' and at peace, or be musical but have a war inside my head again. I chose to give up being 'normal', and the next album 'Abnormal' (2008) is the continuation of the story, the next chapter of life. It was after I had joined GNR, life became a little more intense, and so did the music. There are MP3 samples on my site if people want to listen – here are direct links...
http://www.bumblefoot.com/audio/Bumblef … clips).mp3
http://www.bumblefoot.com/audio/Bumblef … ampler.mp3
And what else could we expect from the new store (I mean more CDs, downloadable stuff or singles...)?
If things go well, I'll start adding the rest of my CDs, and then merch – shirts, photos, stickers, buttons, picks, keychains, mini-guitar collectibles...
Looks like we'll see also at least one of your tracks (Guitars Suck) making a debut in video games on the Rock Band Network pretty soon. Any plans to make more songs available?
Absolutely! I'd love to have every song available, I plan to continue adding songs to the Rock Band Network.
Brazil is known for poor piracy policies from the government. Do you think that would harm the sales?
It has an effect on sales, but it's a blurry line... there are people who will download an album illegally instead of buying the album. Some of those people may never have liked the album enough to want to buy it anyway, so it's not like you're losing a sale with them. But, those people now know your music, and even if it happened through illegal downloading, they might play it for their friends and their friends may like it enough to go to a concert or buy a shirt. It's hard to be sure how the good and the bad of it balance out.
Brazilians in general started to know you more after the release of Chinese Democracy in 2008. After 1,5 year, what's your thoughts about the album?
My thoughts haven't changed – I still think it's a unique album, personal and experimental, and no album will ever be like it.
We know you will be busy with GNR for quite some time abroad, but a recent article in Bergen mentioned Dizzy Reed and DJ Ashba talking about writing a new album - possibly due to 2011. Are you writing with the band too? Are the other recorded songs from the Chinese Democracy sessions scraped (no pun!)? Anything you could share on this matter?
People ask us all the time about a next album and we all speak the same truth, that we would *like* to work on another album, and hopefully will. I think some quotes in that Bergen Norway article got lost in translation, from what the band said to what was printed, to how it was translated again to other languages. Right now the focus is touring, bringing the live show to the world. After that, we'll see what's best to do next...
What did you think of Brazilian fans?
The most passionate, loving fans of all. They were there to have a good time, they never acted like they were too good for it, they were part of the show, they added themselves to the show with the banners, signs, giant flags, roses, singing, their loving spirit... they made the shows better with everything they gave to us, it was inspiration for us to give more to them... I'll never forget it.
Do you have some funny story about any of the gigs here in Brazil?
So many bras being thrown on stage during the tour, that was pretty funny, haha! I'd be playing and suddenly one would be hanging on the end of my guitar, that one of the guys in the band put there... or I go to sing and there's a big bra hanging on the mic, haha... singing into bras – pretty funny.
Any plans to come back here in the future with GNR? And what about a solo tour?
I would love to come back with GNR and also a solo tour - but nothing is planned, right now we're just getting started in Europe and have miles to go...
Did you learn some words (besides "obrigado"!) in Portuguese?
I learned 'te amo'
Did you manage to try some local food?
Oh yeah I did. I tried so much local food that I was 10 pounds heavier by the time the tour was over. Brazilian BBQ...!!!
What message would you like to send to South American fans who got to know you better this year?
The pleasure was mine, I enjoyed getting to know all of you better, and knowing you has made my world a better place - thank you!
AMO VOCÊS!!
Ron

Bumblefoot 'Normal' CD review
XLR8.net (Greece)
17 JUN 2010
The “Normal” album by current Guns N’ Roses guitarist , Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal was released in 2005, but the time has come to receive more recognition. This album has everything: songs that might be mega-hits like “Overloaded”, songs that Eddie Van Halen has NOT written in the last 26 years (“Pretty Ugly”) and in general songs that shows how genius musician Bumblefoot is. The album highlight is “Breaking” which is like it’s in The Beatles “White Album”, which is Ron’s most favourite album. We can easily say, that this is the best thing released by a New Jersey artist since Bruce Springsteen’s “Born To Run”. Until he surpassed it with “Abnormal” release 2008.

Bumblefoot 'Barefoot' CD review
XLR8.net (Greece)

Bumblefoot, as we have also said in the past, is one of the best guitarists in today’s music.
The majority may know him as the Guns N’ Roses guitarist, but they ignore the fantastic albums he has made as “911”,”Normal” and “Abnormal”.
In his latest release “Barefoot-The Acoustic EP”, he takes 5 older songs of his and he plays them in acoustic versions with and without vocals and with two more songs as bonus tracks. In points the versions look like the original electric ones, in points look like more Jeff Buckley-style and in other times he plays even flamenco.
If you like good guitar and the third Led Zeppelin album, this one you should own.
