Re: Slash commenting on Duff with GNR
You are dead right there about Adler, but would Slash care enough about that? Slash has a history with Sorum, and Axl has stated that Adler comes with nightmares about his mom and ambulances in tow.
Would either Axl or Slash care enough to get Adler on board, or care enough about the consequences on Adler's personal state if he was denied that reunion chance? Adler presents a risk, and if its money thats the driver he may not be the safe option.
This will sound crazy but I think Adler might be the key in the end.
I look at it like this...the renuion will be about chemistry and old freindships not about money. If it was about money they'd have done it for the 150 million or whatever it was the other year they were offered.
As they get older, it will be about who was there as kids, and who was there when they got famous in the firstplace.
Adler gave slash one of his first guitars. Music to them was their whole driving ambition to be the stars they became. Plus, much as I understand the old band had to do what they did, and much as Adler's drug use is his own fault. At the end of the day the rest of the band fucked him. Slash and Izzy kicking people out of a band for drug use? Seriously? Slash was an existing friend of Adler and I think on some level he feels shit about that. Hell if you read Adler's bookslash was there at his intervention recently.
I think the others would go to steven first, if he has his shit together at that moment. Also they know he'll kill himself if they reunite without him and do any of them want that on their head? Also - the risk is minimal - as they could easily get a fill in drummer to cover his shit if Adler started going bad mid tour etc.
Re: Slash commenting on Duff with GNR
reunion will happen someday for 1 show or more. gn'r is my all time fav. and so is axl. doesnt matter if they reunite tho. only the hard core fans mostly but not only, 32-45 year olds. don't think it could be that big of a deal even if things were promoted and run like professionals. bottom line is i dont think enough people care. sweet child, jungle, paradise city have stayed relavent to say the least but even that isn't enough. to much time was wasted. the music scene and how it operates has changed so fuckng much that it just seems like a square peg trying to get through a round hole. am i wrong?
Re: Slash commenting on Duff with GNR
As long as they don't replace Fergie with Axl in the video. That would be wrong on so many levels...
Completely agree. And on a slightly more serious note, I'm not so sure I'd want to hear Axl singing Fergie's lyrics. I could go without hearing him singing about swinging on a pole.

Re: Slash commenting on Duff with GNR
I don't think the old guys need to bother replicating a Gold album by Axl's solo band.
If they're gonna do that, then Axl needs to sing lead vocals on Slither[...]
Um, I'd kinda like to hear Axl singing on Slither, at least. And maybe By The Sword.
