Re: Nolan Talks 'Superman' and 'Batman 3'
The Batman franchise finally has balls....
Yeah right. If anybody had balls in the franchise it was Schumacher. Doing a film like Batman & Robin takes massive grapefruits.
Nolan took the easy way out. He just did action/thrillers with Batman characters. Oooh wow, how inventive of him. Michael Mann or the Scott brothers could've did the exact same thing. What a genious Chris Nolan is.
GTFO with this garbage. There's nothing easy or safe about taking more than an hour to put Batman on the screen when the audience doesn't even trust the franchise to begin with because of how terrible B&R was. Batman Begins was a risk, especially the lengthy origin style. It's not like this was the very first Batman movie where people would show up for it no matter what. The movie relied primarily on strong word of mouth to become a success, particularly on home video.
As far as Schumacher goes, there was nothing ballsy about making a giant toy commercial. That's all Batman & Robin really was. BTW, it's spelled "genius." If you're going to pop off about something regarding intelligence, at least fucking spell it right. As far as Nolan goes, he's a genius for Memento, The Prestige, and Inception. His Batman movies are overrated compared to those other three.
