They'll waive them to go to contenders.  Sundin would definitely because he'll be a UFA in the offseason.  Not so sure about Tucker or McCabe because they're not exactly hot commodities.

They're not mathematically eliminated, they're only 8 points out of 8th.  The problem is that they're 14th in the conference, so it's not likely they'll overcome everyone ahead of them.  If they lose and Tampa wins tonight, they'll be last in the conference and 29th overall.  It certainly doesn't look good for them.

Every time people call for the Leafs to be gutted, they start winning... It's like the team loves controversy and feeds off of this.  They've won 2 in a row now and are actually playing decent hockey.

Ramage got 4 years in jail.  I think it's just.  drunk drivers are idiots and should be punished to the fullest extent.  My question, though, is who the fuck gets drunk at a funeral?  Something was a little fishy about that case.  He's appealing because questionable evidence was used (like a breathalizer taken without consent).

As for last night's highlights, anyone see that Rick Nash goal?  Pretty sick stuff!

I was at the Sabres game last night. It was awesome!! Really looking forward to the Sabres-Leafs game tonight now that both teams are off the mat.

Yeah, that was a hell of a way to end the skid last night.  10-1 with Stafford and Roy hat tricks.  I can see the Sabres getting hot now after that one.  The Pens will probably go on a big slide with Crosby out, so the position is there if they can climb in the standings.

Malkin was on fire in Montreal tonight.  Good grief.  Sid can take all the time he needs to come back.  If Crosby didn't get all the hype in Pittsburgh, Malkin would be able to step up more and take over games like he did tonight.

Pretty bad when you can't score a goal on Dany Sabourin though.

Crosby and Stastny likely won't make it to the all-star game.  Marc Savard is playing in place of Dany Heatley.  My guess is Malkin will take Crosby's place and Stastny will have to be replaced by an Av I guess (no other Avs are on the team), so it will probably be Hejduk.

Shame the Sabres lost, but why the hell did Ruff play Miller two nights in a row? Thibault has played fine, even great, when given the chance.

Anyway, Malkin was a monster last night. I'm rarely impressed by him but he really kicked some ass against the Habs.
