Re: Bucharest, Romania – September 21, 2010 (Romexpo)
sounds like a top notch show, cool report supaplex.
edit - fuck! don't cry sounds great. what a fuckin great tune that is.
Re: Bucharest, Romania – September 21, 2010 (Romexpo)
supaplex what are your opinions on DJ now that you've seen him perform with the Band? Good? Bad? ..... Ugly?
he's great. plays good, great stage presence, runs around a lot
he came down to the front row during a song, i forgot which one, and climbed the barrier and kept playing while people were touching his geetar. he's cool.

I mean, when they go to some friggin country with low income and less bands coming, they increase the set list and seems to have a good time. It looks like these people are way more appreciative towards having a good time than those of us who come from countries where bands flock in and does a show every thirty seconds.
it's not a coincidence, but it doesn't make it right. fans in the UK/scandinavia/USA have as much right to hear IRS or Shacklers as the romanian fans.
axl's whimsical mood dictates who is granted a good show or not. and sometimes fans in countries that are more exposed to touring bands, or countries where the pressure/spotlight on GnR/axl, are treated to an average or phoned-in performance then the next night in another country it's an amazing show. there definitely is, and always has been, a lack of consistency with GnR/axl live. but what really rubs me the wrong way is the 'club'/'acoustic' shows are usually reserved for NY/London where there is a substantially larger media-base than say if they did one of those club shows in romania..
Oslo was good, but they barely touched upon Chinese. No Shacklers, no IRS, no Better either I think. When out of the basic media hatred fest (granted or not), Axl throws on a Chinese show again, and we're left asking why.
The acoustic shows are for the trendies...the big cities...he wouldn't do one of those in Romania in a million years.

Wasnt impressed when it was played in Asia to be honest, the song has Robin all over it and DJ just couldnt replicate that unorthodox sound imo.
Haven't watched these yet. But this guy has a bunch of songs up. And here's IRS.
Its hard to tell with that audio, Axl sounds brilliant but some of the guitars sound a bit messy. What happened in the middle of the song, its like they all just stopped and Axl thought the song was over
He recovered well though, I wonder if they knew the song was going to be played or if he just sprung it on them?

Wow, that performance of This I Love was incredible. Its actually reinvigorated my interest in going down to Manchester or Birmingham, I want to experience that in the flesh. Axl sounds better than ever, long may it continue!
Nightrain was pretty nutty, that Romanian marching powder must be good shit
