I can see Velvet Revolver forever being a band that always has a new singer every few albums or even every album.

This is what I've been saying they should do for YEARS!

Juliette would be a good choice I like her Licks album.

But my vote would be Shirley Manson. I'd love to hear her version of It's So Easy, too.

Slash: Velvet Revolver Auditioning New Singers

http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/N … lver-0917/

Solo star, former member of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has revealed his band will be holding auditions for a new frontman this October, via an Artisan News Service video. He also confirmed that the new singer will not be Myles Kennedy, who has been performing singing duties on Slash’s solo tour (and is also a member of Alter Bridge).

"Velvet Revolver will be a 24-hour-a-day project and Kennedy is still committed to Alter Bridge,” Slash recently told BostonHerald.com. “I don’t want to be the guy responsible for breaking up a band. But we’ll find someone. Maybe not somebody known, but some kind of local hero.”

Slash said that before Velvet Revolver launched with Scott Weiland as the singer, drummer Matt Sorum had nominated Kennedy for the role. Later, after Weiland parted ways with the rest of the band, Kennedy was approached but had to decline because of his other band, “which is very commendable, all things considered,” Slash said.

The Chapeaued Shredder continued to sing Kennedy’s praises.

“I’m having a really great time with Myles and it’s reconstituted my faith in lead singers,” he said. “Making my solo album, I worked with 18 singers who were all fantastic, so I’m not as bitter about the concept of lead singers as I once was.”

Linda Perry would be great, esp for songwriting.  Back to men, Chris Robinson or the guy from Tesla would be my choices. Just keep it simple, probably their final album.

I personally would love to hear VR take a more metalcore (albeit not entirely) route. Nothing to say was pretty great, and proves slash could do it. Maria Brink is one of my favorite singers.

Slash said on Eddie Trunk's show awhile back that he and Dave Mustaine came up with a bunch of heavy material back when they were both in between bands and he's always had an interest in playing that type of music.
