Re: Not letting go and Living in the late 80s.
I thought this was interesting. Whoever is running the gnr facebook, twitter, has been really active lately.

Re: Not letting go and Living in the late 80s.
their tour and the U2 tour are mirroring each other right now in terms of cities they are playing in. Too bad Gn'R couldn't open for U2. I'm saying that as a fan. It would be a great show and great great publicity for Gn'R but obviously something like that would never happen. Axl would need to go on stage by 7:00 if he wanted to even play for an hour and 30 minutes. Still it would be aweosme cause I guarantee if they were the opening act the stadium would be full to capacity for the opening band. I mean if 'Guns N' Roses' are the opening act who's the moron not showing up to see them? Even I'd show up on time if they opened

This show would rock for me! I could see guns, bail on u2 and be home in time to tuck the kidds in bed
Not much of a u2 fan. i did enjoy them in the the rock hall of fame performances & the South Park with Bono was one of my favs !
On topic: hopefully recent shows and things said and whoever is running gnr from the web will help Axl move into the future

Re: Not letting go and Living in the late 80s.
I guess they wrote that cos of the comments people make.
Like i'm guessing Axl could tweet like "Hey, I just discovered I can breathe fire and accidently killed 5 people with it" and the next 20 comments would be like "bring back slash", "it's not GNR" and so on.
Maybe those points have their merrit, but to repeat them in that context over and over defeats the purpose of talking to someone, if you always answer with the same responce.
I've noticed similar on Hulk Hogan's page, I added him as I was a huge fan growing up (speaking of living in the 80s). Recently hulks posts have been about how he is in a hosptial cos his back is fucked up....yet the replies he gets from people go on about how he should come back for another match and who he can be in the ring with and so on.
As a celb in must be pretty annoying to feel that people arn't even reading what you write.
As for the band being musically stuck in the past, well, there's a group of us online who love new material and are itching for it, but the average punter at the show probably wants the classic hits and gets just that. Despite all the setlist criticism I think the band does a decent job of mixing CD tracks with the AFD stuff. Much like how slash did in his recent shows too, quite a few tracks from the slash album, but also a bit of snakepit, vr and of course GNR to keep the classic fans happy too.

Umm that post makes almost zero sense to me
Did they mean to say "past" and not "post"? Even then if I change that it doesn't make any sense to me.
Who spotted what?
Maybe the whole thing does make sense but because of the irony you guys are referring to I'm scratching me head. Are they having a go about people wanting to live in the past? Well fuck me have the looked at their own setlist and what they have been doing since 2002.

No they meant to say post. They made a previous POST saying that GNR's next show would be on Friday, when it actually isn't until Saturday. So somebody corrected them, thus their response.
Now from there, if you agree, disagree, or are still confused by what they meant, I don't think I can help you. I'm not completely sure myself. I'm not on facebook, so I'm not a "fan" of theirs or whatever the proper facebook lingo is. Monkey seems to be on the right track though, sounds feasible.
