Re: What Axl & Slash would sound like in 2010
Actually, I reckon it'd work quite well with the lyrics to Better. Anyone know if there's a multitrack for Better knocking around? Might have a go at doing it myself.

Okay, this is a very rough and ready proof-of-concept, but here's the first bit of "Better Dangerous":

I've never heard Prostitute or whatever Slash's part is. I thought the vocals were what made GnR sound so un-GnR to me in ChiDem. It ain't. The difference is hearing Slash and Axl together. This rocks. Harmon hats off bro.

I think I like the Prostitute mashup better.
I think the mis-match of melodies is even more glaring with Better.
It does go a bit atonal in the chorus, yeah - I might try fiddling with the pitch to see if can be fixed. I've already tweaked the timing, which was a bit off in the version I uploaded earlier.

Gotta say, far and away the best of these mash-ups is the If The World/Slither one. The melodies actually work with each other!

Yes, Guns N'™ Roses did play their first U.S. show in four years during the final night of the Rock '˜N Rev Music Festival, but it'™s just not the same without the original lineup. If you feel our pained nostalgia, we'™ve got a bit of a treat from you: a virtual reunion by the legendary rockers in the form of a mashup EP.
According to the Guns N'™ F'™ Roses blog (via AntiMusic), the EP mixes Axl Rose'™s vocals from Chinese Democracy (specifically 'Prostitute' , 'Chinese Democracy' , 'If the World' , 'There Was a Time' , 'Scraped' , and 'Madagascar' ) with cuts from Slash'™s solo album ('Beautiful Dangerous' ) and the Slash/Duff McKagan-featuring Velvet Revolver ('Slither' and 'Messages' ). The EP, put together by DJ 5agge, is a musical journey to an alternate dimension, a simpler time when Guns N'™ Roses probably didn'™t hate each other.
