This doesn't really interest me. They are milking the Terminator story to the point of irrelevancy. Its gonna cheapen the legacy of the old films.

Now we have this TV show, and after that a new trilogy.

I'm avoiding both TV and films of this story at all costs.

it was ok...its 2 years after T2

and they are still in hiding, then Sarah runs with John and A terminator finds them

a freind at johns new school turns out to be a terminator (A female) and helps them, they eventually make their way to a time travel device and they go to 2007, the year the new skynet starts to find the creator and stop it all from happening...again

I taped this and will watch it later. It totally knocks out everything that happened in T3 and probably in T4. But it doesn't bother me really. T3 wasn't great. The girl terminator is River from Firefly, right? That's cool.

While I agree with you in general, there must be something good about the Terminator movie that is being made because Christian Bale signed on to play John Connor. Maybe he's doing it for the paycheck, but I doubt it. He never signs onto something without knowing that it's a solid project (ie, read the script and love/like the premise). The director for the film is a hack, but maybe the script is very good and the movie will turn out a lot better than the director's reputation would lead us to believe.

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

^ T4 has a lot of pressure on it. Unless it is good, T3 and T4 will always be remembered as random money grabs. It can save the reputation of the series, but it has a lot of work to do. Mostly, it has to convince me that John Connor is a hero. In T2 he was just a weird kid that was a little annoying, and in T3, despite being a nice guy, he was not heroic and showed very little leadership, charisma, or courage. Bale is the right guy to take over and show him as a hero, but the transistion needs to be believable. IF its not, then it really has nothing in common with Terminator, and is just a "future robot war" type movie.

My advice to T4 is to use minimalist special effects and have a thick plot and heart to it. If its just a CGI 2 hour battle, ala Matrix Revolutions Dock battle, it will suck.

I enjoyed the pilot. I'm a big fan of the Terminator mythos, although I enjoyed the first movie the most and feel they've stretched it thin with each new entry (that includes T2). Still, it's great sci-fi, b-movie style madness that somehow got elevated to a Blade Runner level of masterpiece for unknown reasons, so I tend not to take these things too seriously. The pilot was a lot of fun. I hope the series can hold out and keep my interest, but for now I know I'll be tuning in (especially since it'll be regularly airing during the now-in-hiatus Heroes timeslot). Great action and production values for TV.

Re: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

I liked it quite a bit. Sarah Connor is hot, which I could never have said before this series. And of course Summer is hot. So those are two pluses... or maybe 4. Action was good enough, and I will watch more of this show.
