Tommy leaving would be a harsh blow to GNR in my opinion. One hit they can't afford to take right now.

That's a good idea. I don't know if he'd want the hassle, though.

And what happened to Doc?

Okay, i'm gonna make a few points here...

That was a bad crowd. Apparently. There were boos out of the gate, now we can sit here and try to come up with a bunch of different reasons as to why, "they want the real band", "people are tired of Axl Rose", despite my feelings on the subject, I think it boils down to.... it happens. Some nights on stage, the audience is the pits. You just can't win them over. That's what I think was going on there. It certaintly wasn't because of the new band, because that place was fucking packed, and I guarantee you everyone in there knew what they were getting.

Despite Axl, specifically having massive disrespect for his fans for years, in this case AXL WAS RIGHT. Throwing shit at the stage, I would be JUST as pissed as Axl, if not more pissed. I'm sorry that my bass player disagrees, but what the fuck ever. I'm not going out there to deal with a bunch of fucking kids, and i'm sorry if the good people that aren't doing it lose a show. If you don't like it, the person next to you that you see do it... beat the fucking shit out of them. ZERO tolarance, and i'm glad Axl feels the same way.

With that said...

Tommy quitting would be it for me...obviously.:(

Me too. Tommy quits, I quit too. The band loses ALL credibility without Tommy. He's got as much or more seniority than Duff at this point, and I respect Tommy the most of them all.

Tommy would be an irrepairable blow. About the only thing that could repair that loss is calling Duff.

And despite the fact I feel Axl was in the right here, I do not for a second blame Tommy for his frustration with the band right now. It's totally warranted. First Ron, now Tommy... something is amiss in the GN'R world right now. I just feel bad for the band, guys like DJ, Ron, Richard, Tommy, Frank, Dizzy & Chris who do want to give the audience their all.

Agree fully on all. If I was out there, trying to perform, and give off something from my soul, I would not come back as Axl did. I would leave.

Musicians knows it, authors knows it; When you create something like a song, lyrics, a book, you give off something from your own soul. It can be quite hard actually dealing with the feeling of having someone read or just stare right down your soul. If I had been given the treatment Axl got in Dublin, I would not go back at all. I would be heartbroken.

And Tommy, you're right about that. He is the bass player of GNR in my mind, before Duff. Tommy is the one with the credibility.

Fact is nobody gives two shits abut this Gn'R anymore. It's done. drop it an reunite. Even if for just the money. I'd rather see a reunion now than this joke. Tey ahd their chance, it's over.  Plus if they did a reunion album like Moley Crue it'd be better than CD anyways if not dfor the fact that it'd be sleezy rn'r with Axl's vocals on it,  so fuck it. Just get the old band back together for one last hurray. If anything it'll be like Emmitt Smith retrieing as a Cowboy. Cheesy but in the end the right thing to do. What Gn'R is now is a fucking joke. Agree or disgaree but if you disagree you've lost touch....

Seriously anyone who thinks there's hope for this thing needs to step back and seriously reevaluate.

Axl is the disaster end of story. how you can even begin to pinpoint this mess on anyone other than him is beyond me. It's ALL ON HIM.

No! Not even close. That's like saying Dizzy has more seniority  than Duff. no way. Tommy has done what? been a  touring musician for ten years and only has a handfull of original songs to even remotely lay claim to helping create. NOBODY in this new band even remotely comes close to any original members in terms of GUNS N' ROSES senority. Cause if Tommy does then so does Pitman and we all know that's not the case so.....

Not a total deal breaker for me, but I'm on the verge of turning in my fan card. It's just too absurd to follow on a regular basis now. It's a farce. It doesn't operate on anything even remotely resembling a professional level, and what attention they do wind up getting is for a bullshit reason. Starting to look like a repeat of 2002 is in the cards and when the train derails this time, I'm jumping off at the moment of impact.

That right there is this whole thing in a nutshell. The saga used to be entertaining. Now its just a bore. Their amateurism and "unpredictability" is what makes them so boring and predictable. The fact its not even a creatively viable unit musically is the cherry on top. Cant record one note in four years but can play AFD in your sleep? Big whoop.

Tommy leaving is definitely a huge blow to the 21st century version of the "band". Other than Axl, he's the only marketable guy in the band that a mainstream media outlet would give two shits about. He's also the only guy onstage besides Axl where a few people in the crowd would know his name.

I can easily see him bail out(I figured he'd bail before Finck), and I can see a chunk of the hardcore base bail right along with him.

People are reaching their limit. The hardcores, the casuals, and now the band members. These guys are approaching 50. Time to grow up.

Totally agree with all this.  Del, Fernando, Beta et al can't have their fingerprints on this thing any longer if he wants it to work.  I'm sure they are good intentioned but unfortuantly they don't cut the mustard in a professional sense.  He needs to employ some professional people to run all aspects of this circus - BUT he needs to actually listen to them and follow their advice.  Unfortuantely history seems to demonstrate that Axl is the ringmaster and he won't listen to anyone so sadly I don't see the professionalism of this outfit changing.

Unlike you James, I dont' yet find this whole thing a bore, I still get a kick out of it - I mean that in the sense that it's funny like watching a TV sitcom or something.  But my attitude to this band has changed over the last 12 months or so to the point where I don't give a toss what happens.  Yes I still watch, yes I am going to catch a local show here in Oz because I like the music and I like Axl and his artistic abilities.  Difference is if the show was cancelled I wouldn't be a bit disappointed, compared to a couple of years ago I would have been devastated.  I guess I just don't care as much anymore coz this band doesn't seem to care.  They also don't seem to be going anywhere - I agree too with what you said about the creativity void, I don't see this "band" being allowed to create anything new, so Yawn!
