i thought that was quite good fun. i didn't take it like slashba being a dick, i thought it was a good give & go between the audience & band & thought the crowd for the most part were having a bit of craic with the band, it was only when the band took it thick that things got really sad.

I dont think he was being a dick either, just doing his routine. I wonder if its just a wall of noise to them or if they can distinguish between boos and cheers.

Its all connected, people are not so worked up just because of them being late on the night, its because they know they do it all the time and they are fuming that its happening again. The Reading and Leeds fiasco was so high profile that its really put the band under pressure cause fans here wont be prepared to swallow that shit anymore.

All hell would be unleashed over here in 2006 or 2010 if GNR were to attempt hitting the stage at 1.30am, but the venues would pull the plug long before they even got the chance to perform.

I honestly don't think they could hear the boos as much as they were. I was practically within touching distance of the stage and could only hear a bit of it, it sounded mostly positive from where i was. I then looked at the WTTJ video posted earlier and was shocked, that did'nt sound like the gig I was at.

Either the crowd around my area blocked most of that out or i was really fucked up...........................come to think of it i was really fucked up  5

Sorry for you guys who had a shit night, I feel it all could have been avoided so easily.

people wouldn't wait til half 1 over here save for a handful of diehards, which is what happened last night.

BUT all evening long, even in the bars, people were talking about the leeds/reading gig & getting their facts & stories completely wrong & OTT & very few even realised they'd played belfast the night previously & if they did they'd heard horror stories of late starts & walkoffs.
there was so much bullshit speculation in the audience but then axl's behaviour just validated those rumours & lies by actually living up to those bad expectations instead of coming out and winning people over.
& it is unfair for people who had to work the next morning. spending 70euro on a ticket & getting 5 songs before being told to go home. i think like me, a lot of them were happy to be put out of their misery. it was just a shitty move to go back on & take away a chance of a refund.

now going back on MAY have been to quell the audience, a lot of whom were talking to me while we waited for the houselights about a riot or storming the stage. but by the time the houselights came on there were so few people left & not many cared enough & those that did care were on axl's side, there was really no real threat especially the amount of security that were actually there (tho doing nothing). it seems most likely they went back on to get paid/prevent a lawsuit/refunds rather than for the good of the fans or because they wanted to.
