Also I gotta say, with his amazing guitar work live, and the absolute brilliance of his songwritting with Motley Crue and Sixx A.M. its a shame that Axl didn't find Ashba back in '99.

If Ashba had brought the "Life is beautiful" riff to guns n roses, I have no doubt Axl could have turned that into one amazing song for CD

nice post!  Im with Ron get in there and record. Lets hear Axl & Dj  with this touring band! 9

These reviews are total bullshit. For the last couple days I've been thinking the band was booed and people were sitting on their hands at Reading up until the end. That wasn't bad. I think certain people see it the way they want to see it, good or bad. Axl sounded great.

...but looks ridiculous.

Exactly, people are READING these reviews and just taking it as gospel that the shows were utter shit.  I've read plenty of positive comments from people who were at the shows.  Unfortunately they don't work for the press.

For example, Axlspants over on HTGTH.  I know, I know.  Just look at his user name and the site he posts at.  Certainly, HE can't be trusted.  But anyways, here's what he had to say.  Though I'm sure he's lying, right?

"For the record I was at Leeds last night, had an amzaing time, band were just incredible. I don't think you could say the band were late on, they came on as soon as the roadies had finished setting everything up. I checked my watch and they were on at 9.15pm but still the media over here are saying they went on 35 minutes late which is total horse shit.

This band gets so much shit from the press and media.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't comes to mind.

GnR keeps keeping on and thats good enough for me. Can't wait till Manchester!"

Looks a pretty average performance by all to me, liked some of the playfullness Axl showed with the guitarists, really cool to finally get proshot footage though. Outro to NR was good, as was most of TIL. Overall I honestly found it was a little underwhelming, but also far from a trainwreck. I really thought they would sound better than that as the recent bootlegs have all sounded excellent.
Read the whole show will be shown on BBC this Friday night, cant wait to hear CD and Sorry.
Dont like the jibes about Axls weight, he's a wee bit chubbier than the young Axl but really, if it was someone you knew who had put on that amount of weight you would barely even notice, or care.

And i'm sure those reporters will just be labeled "haters", and internet reunionites, which only the three voices in our heads listen to, will be blamed for influencing media bias.

By the way, Axl sounds fucking terrible. Then again, I only listened to Jungle, so he's always out of breath early on.

Band sounds tight tho

Well for all the BS I got to say. Guns N Roses never looked as tight knit and close a band since '87 as they did in Reading and Leeds.

that band shot of them all sitting on stage. 4tus breaking his legendary silence and even Dj's seeming fondness for his band mates really shone through. They looked like a family up there

The band looked tight knit in 92-93 too.  I'm not saying they aren't, but looks aren't always reality.

Artistically the band has always been tight. It seems that when Axl's on stage with the guy's, old or new, he's fine for the most part.

It's getting him THERE that is the trouble, which creates pre & post-show tension, but only on a few occasions during. Like in the old days, Axl & Slash could be near fist fight mid-set, and hugging at the end of the show.
