why can't we change it? why does it have to be the way these people say it has to be?
GnR have a platform, or rather axl has a platform, cause he's got a catalogue of outstanding songs behind him & a strong brand name. it should be expected of someone with that power to be questioning authority & the rules of the bizness. he should be applauded rather than derided. it's the normal people like bono & jon bon jovi who have by and large sucked all the value out of classic rock by their adherence to the status quo's rules; they've thwarted not only rock n rolls evolution but are killing it by having validated a standardised way of behaving that's as phoney and fake as your next pop-princess or boyband. what we've ended up with is a world of the killers, arcade fire, the hold steady.
GnR have always existed outside those parameters. GnR have always been about freedom of expression - no matter how petty it gets it's still a damn sight more honourable than any of the boring rule-abiding sheep that are held in such high esteem by their fellow flocks.
Wow. I would strongly suggest you take a full week off from posting and allow yourself to regroup. You have no idea how ridiculous you're sounding right now

Axl wants to rebel against the system he can pick legitimate battles.

He's just protecting his paycheck. Not really impressed or interested in anything he says.

The funny thing is Axl and his clowns are still able to surprise me. I often think it cannot be even more ridiculous, but Reading plus the comments of Asba & Fortus proved me wrong. It's getting entertaining again in some ways. I thought Monty Python was done, but it's alive. Guns N' Roses became the biggest joke in the history of music. The aging rebel with the same setlist, who cancels and reschedules his shows every other night, lol.

I agree that no other band in the world would twiddle its thumbs for hours backstage, show up an hour late onstage, then show faux outrage when the sound gets cut before the set is over, then threaten to cancel the next show.
What you did had nothing to do with balls.

At this point, I think I'm just following for the trainwreck/unintentional humor aspect of this band.
Anyway, wasn't curfew around 11pm? The promoter gave him an extra half hour or so before officially pulling the plug. Funny how only GNR seems to have these problems, I think 10 or so bands played yesterday and yet nary a peep out of them about problems.
It's not like Axl hasn't shown up on time for these gigs with curfew. He just chooses not to. Every disagreement/feud he has with certain concert promoters just shortens the list of festivals/venues that are willing to take a chance on this variation of GNR. That list is growing shorter with every stunt he pulls. He's just costing himself money in the end.

That kind of shocked me. And I don't think its anyone protecting their paychecks, either. It feels like a mutual mindset.
