Apparently the promoter has had a personal grudge with GN'R stemming from 8 years ago, if this was the case why book the band? He knows our show. Let me guess... To take our fans money and then not allow us to give them a show that they pay...ed for. This was clearly not a curfew thing because after cutting our power like a selfish money grubbing prick, he allowed music blasting through out the venue till the early morning. For us this was all about the fans, the show and the music. For the promoter it was all about the money and not about the fans or the music. The promoter was already being a cocky f$#k in the press before we arrived, so yes we went on a little late, and for this we apologies. However, our fans payed to see a show, and that's why we showed up, too give them just that. Sad that this promoter's music festival has little too do with the fans or the love for music. Last night was insane! They pulled the power, but failed to kill the connection as 90,000 people sang Paradise City. Much love to you all!!!

I know I'm in the minority, as usual, but I agree with DJ. The promoter was asking for this. You don't tell Axl Rose THROUGH THE PRESS, "you better go on on time or else!" He was asking for trouble, and he got it. Like DJ said, why book them if you have such a problem with them, or concerns? People keep saying how this band is unmarketable and no promoter will touch them, yet they keep booking gigs (at least outside of the US), so that doesn't seem to be entirely true.
It does sound like they won't be taking the stage on Sunday though, which IS unfortunate for the fans. Maybe a riot will ensue after all.

Whats wrong with paying someone to do a job and expecting them to do it and not act like a childish premadonna. There was more at stake here than hurting little old axl`s feelings or rubbing him up the wrong way. There were rules to be followed by the organisers set by the council invoilving a hefty fine and possible damage to future events.. if that means someone has to boot axl up the ass then so be it.. Axl knew there was a time schedule and a curfew yet he still decided to take the piss, and then complains when the plug was pulled. He was warned, so fuck him. Yeah people are acting like GNR got hijacked.
hell, we the fans have known all week that there was an 11:30 curfew...... so they even got 30 extra mins.....

If you have a strict curfew, don't book GNR. Simple as that. Promoter is a dumbfuck not to know this. Doesn't make Axl a hero. But the promoter was the instigator all week.
I guess he took the chance Axl grew up a bit or would at least make an effort.. I guess it wont happen again.
When booking, what did the contract say? Did Axl(gnr) agree to be on time? Thats what I`d like to know.... well on second thought maybe there was no contract, if there was they``d possibly be sue.. meh i`m done with this..

That's all well and good, but the promoter handled it horribly. Challenging/warning Axl through the press is NOT the way to do business. If you're concerned with the start time, which they had every right to be, talk directly to GNR management, not the media.

Axl handled it badly also. So he didnt like being given some rules, has he ever lived by any? not much, which is why he is still the child he is. If he had a problem with the rules, however he was given them, dont show up at all. Dont intentionally set out to turn up late and play on past the curfew to try and get the promoter a big fine and a lesser chance of a license to hold the event in the future. No, he had to throw a hissy fit. In all probability the promoter already did give the management all the info they needed, but it just so happend something got said while media was sniffing around..
