Re: New-new Bucket CD
It's a banjo CD, and it sounds badass based on the previews.
Called Spinal Clock, so this is definitely something to do with his recent medical issue that landed him in the hospital.
You can preview all tracks and listen to all of Track 7.
Wow, a fucking banjo CD. This is why you love Buckethead.

I think it's clear the CD with Brain and Melissa was a previously recorded CD. This sounds like a recent one.
Re: New-new Bucket CD
Reading this I thoght "Wow, I'll bet a Buckethead take on bluegrass could be really cool... or maybe not"
Listening to it, it sort of made me wish for the days gone by where you couldn't just record yourself fucking around for an hour and call it an album.
I do realize that kind of thing is a lot of what Buckethead does these days, and some brilliant shit cam come from it at times, as a whole it just isn't really for me.
That said, I really want to hear the full songs of Overnight The Animatronics and skeleton Dance.

Ordered.

Have you heard this?
Re: New-new Bucket CD
FUCK YES!!!
This might be the best Bucket album since Electric Tears. Then again, I get off on this stuff.
This sounds like Bucket doing the soundtrack to Fistful of Dollars. Yes, yes YES!
CORRECTION: It's more like Spaghetti Western meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre

No I haven't ever heard that. I thought that was Fucking Awesome, and my initial reaction might have been more because that's closer to what I had in my head when I saw the initial link
Wow, OK then. A lot of those tracks sound like fully formed pieces, not "fucking around."
If you want fucking around, listen to ISOT, CD #13, or most of his most recent: Best Regards.
I definitely thought some of them sounded fully formed, but there's a middle ground somewhere between Buckethead and Axl... For what it's worth, It's much closer to Buckethead than Axl.

Maybe my problem is that I'm not a horror movie guy?
Re: New-new Bucket CD
Maybe, it's just what my ears hear. I think Bucket was heavily influenced by those kinds of movies. I hear alot of that in this banjo album.
I absolutely kneel at the feet of guys like Ennio Morrcione and John Carpenter/Alan Howarth. I'm not really sure who scored Chainsaw, I thought it was a collection of library music.
Re: New-new Bucket CD
Ennio Morricone is genius. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly soundtrack is one of my favorites ever. So much emotion in it.
That is kind of the feel of these samples, Axlin08. Got some definite horror, western feels there. Whale on This, Skeleton Dance, Bayou By You, Four o'Clock for Dub Down and Spinal Clock all sound like they could be really special.
