His mic doesn't have issues, his voice does. The sound is set that way for a reason...all it takes is 5 seconds for the sound guy to fix it if Axl wants it fixed.
I honestly don't think their "sound guy" knew what the hell was going on, trust me. Moving on... The closer you were, the better it sounded I say, the ones out back... Complaints like no other. Perhaps they were haters? Don't know, don't care really. I enjoyed the show very much, it was my first time seeing the band (I work a lot, so seeing them in past wasn't an option due to my shitty schedule). He kept walking off the stage quite a bit during the solos of songs... Some nearby would always say "here comes the riot," every time he walked off, it was crazy. I had a good time.
It was filmed by production company HDlogix. The promoters of the festival are aiming to release this to DVD at some point and use the footage to show other/future bands what the Rock 'N Rev festival has to offer. If you recall the Ozzfest 10th Anniversary DVD... In my opinion, I believe that is how this event will play itself out on the disc. A documentary setting, with the performances from 20+ bands during the week at Monkeyrock USA, given this was the 70th Anniversary of the Sturgis Rally.

Axl has had "mic problems" all the way back to the UYI tour and probably before that. As much of a perfectionist as he is, there's no way he would tolerate his volume being lower unless it was done by design. Maybe he knows he can't sing certain songs and turns it up for others. I don't know, but I do know it's not a mic issue.

Maybe some of us actually have our heads on straight, knowing that this new band is never gonna create anything great or become the band all of us wanted them to be. It's NEVER gonna happen ergo there's absolutely no point wishing for it, discussing it, or jerking off to it.
Oh and telling me in a sarcastic tone that it's good I stay positive is fucking hilarious. Are you for real? I'm not negative at all. I'm 100% realistic. My God this joke has been going on for a decade plus. Tell me what is there to be positive about? It's not about being negative it's about seeing it for what it is and stating I'd much prefer a reunion to what's going on now. I mean honestly look at their last set list. They can't even be botherd to try and be a new band. But I can totally see why you'd rather see the new band parading around as Gn'R then have the old band perform their own songs. I get that Wishing for a reunion is just as legit as it is for someone wishing for this new band to actually fucking do something.

i agree with you when it comes to the fluctuation in volume for axl's voice. he has always had issues with running out of breathe, although, i think hes actually getting better or smarter at using his breathe wisely these days as the old voice naturally becomes a bit weaker.
as far as you suggesting it is on purpose that the volume be down on weaker songs or performances i don't agree completely.
in '02 i went to the gig in mn and witnessed firsthand an example of it being technical issues. we could not hear him at all where we were sitting and we eventually moved to the floor where we could hear him perfectly all throughout the rest of the show.
in '09 we couldn't hear him throughout jungle but as the crowd quieted down his volume was perfect throughout the show. one of his better performances so no need to turn the vocals down. so this is more and example technical staff unable to properly adjust than proof of him not hiding a weakness.
as far him hiding his weaker vocals it is possible but there are instances on youtube where you can hear him perfectly in more difficult vocal parts and he is almost non existent in others instances of the same songs from the same shows, prostitute and catcher included. there are times when you can hear him and then all of the sudden you cannot. i don't think he is being turned down. i think he is simply out of breathe and cannot compete with everything else going on. this happens mostly with the upper ranges where he uses clean vocals in the studio. he has wisely inserted rasp in these parts as in the versus of TIL.

That's not a stretch. Could have been anyone. Tommy, DJ, Pittman, Frank, Dizzy.
For a while now there has been reports of Ron being mega pissed by the late appearences. He's gone.

It's the obvious reason, but I'm not sure he would risk all that money going into all those upcoming shows. Why not stick em out and then quit?
I mean, fine, he's pissed by the late starts. But does it justify quitting in the middle of a tour pissing off the fanbase further? It's like fighting fire with fire if you ask me.
