The Ritz DVD is awesome, but we need a remastered version of that epic show. I know a guy that was at the Ritz show and they played some UYI stuff too that wasn't filmed...

I don't know if it was that Estranged video or the one from Chicago, but Axl was so into one of Slash's solos (the I think it was the dolphin sounding part). Obviously the man had a ton of respect for what Slash brought to the table. What the hell happened? How do you get from that to almost 20 years later STILL hating Slash?
We've all been close to people we are no longer close to. Hell, I've become friends with ex-gfs through facebook and had normal conversations with them all these years later - one of which ended really badly. I'm not saying we're ever really going to be friends, but it's cordial.
Time heals a lot of shit...what the hell could have happened that was so bad that 20 years later you'd still hate the other person that much?
I really have doubts that it was just one thing...

Just ordered it off ebay along with the ritz dvd. I guess I've been hiding under a rock.
I wish I had paid more attention to your post. Be careful with EBay, there's a Chicago DVD floating around that claims itself as an official release that's only the first half of the show.

Check the thread, it's all there. Only thing to be warned, is the Chicago show cuts off at the beginning of Paradise City, like many boots from that era.

Ok, so I'm a little drunk. Doesn't matter. Ritz? What made this show so special? Apart from the horrible playing? Axl? He sang alright. The rest were shit.

I think its the best video recording of their raw energy, attitude and sheer presence. Its still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, doesnt matter that half of them are drunk and hitting the odd bum note, the whole performance is just badass.
Personally I wish the Ritz 87 show was in video cause I've heard the audio and its a far superior performance, Axl sings like a god.
