Agreed. I've always loved the tone on the guitar and solo to You're Crazy as well. Parts of that solo don't even sound like a guitar but they're awesome.

To me, that Slash solo separated the men from the boys...  It was acoustic, but with balls and passion... And has a good amount of diatonic notes, which proves Slash is not some one trick pony pentatonic player.  Has almost a jazzy, classical, spanish style feel to it.  Soo cool.
