Isn't that Doc McGhee that came our right after Axl? He was probably there to discuss business, rather than hang out with the KISS guys.
Well he does manage Kiss as well, so I'm sure he was there to support them.

That didn't work out too well with Irv and VH, but maybe Doc and Kiss could be a different story. Didn't Gene have some choice words for Axl and his late start times though? Just like with VH, I don't know if the egos could co-exist. One probably wouldn't like "opening" for the other.

^ yeah I think GNR needs to be the closing band in any joint set, not because of ego, but because of the potential for late starts, it's one thing to see an act, have a break for an hour or more, then have GNR close; it's another if there is nothing for 1.5 hrs, then GNR, and THEN another band, it could stir up trouble between the bands real fast.
Although GNR seems to operate with less delays than historically.

There's no way with the elaborate setup KISS goes for that they would open for new Guns.
Even Axl would have to know that. It would only make logistical sense to have GN'R go on first, then KISS. Axl would have to do what the rest of us do... be ON TIME. WOW, what a request.
The fuckin' gall of that guy to think he's over that. Hey, i'm a late guy too, and I kid around with 10-15 minutes here and there, but i'm always apologetic. Axl has this total "so what" thing about it. I just don't get the dick thing just for the sake of it. Promoters don't give a shit. The only people you piss off are the people who love you.
The man has his opinions, and that's fine, but that late thing, I just don't get that at all trying to INTENTIONALLY be difficult.

Actually i think it's the promoters that give a shit about it most, late show= angry crowd, government fines, additonal overtime staffing costs etc.
I think Axl has said it's because he likes to be in a certain mindset to peform at his best for the audience, and sometimes that's not available on schedule.
I can see both sides of it, from an artist point of view I can fully understand where Axl is comming from, his peformances come from the heart, and he likes to make it real and be living out the emotions in the songs on stage and to be in the place he needs to be to do that requires something that isn't necessarly operating on a 'press a button and the jack pops out of the box' type system in his head.
However I can also see the more pragmatic side of it, in that thousands of people are waiting for him, there's propably hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on the line as well...and I can see those artistic considerations would not always fly with other people.
