Re: New Buckethead and Brain box set
I was just going to post this.
I'm going to wait for people to get this before I buy it. I'll probably wait for the non-limited, mass-printed version. I bought the $200 In Search of the ... box set and was disappointed by the music. Cool to have the hand-drawn covers and CDs, but I buy for the music. I'm not a completist.
Re: New Buckethead and Brain box set
I'm not either. I still don't have that other box set and have no plans to pony up 75 bucks for this one either.
I wonder how the economic climate impacts his finances. People are real picky about what they spend their entertainment dollars on, and I doubt a box set is high on the list. Seems like he could have got more sales releasing this a disc at a time over the course of the year.
Re: New Buckethead and Brain box set
Well, he knows he has a built-in fanbase that will buy it. It's cheaply produced as far as printing and pressing, since it is CDR'd and hand-drawn. Plus, Travis probably gives him close to free studio time. Brain probably gets a small fee.
Mailed from TDRS, so no mass shipping or record label involved. If he sells 500, he'll probably make a ton.
Re: New Buckethead and Brain box set
Interesting. Over at http://brainandmelissa.com/, it saws this is the first of three sets.
