Red Moskitou posted this on the Ten Club board.  Pearl Jam are likely not going to tour for awhile because of Soundgarden'™s reunion tour:

This was the last show for a long time'¦. That was anounce by Vedder'¦. This just stuck in my heart'¦ a bleeding heart by the way'¦. Please come back soon, as soon as possible'¦ we need you!!! Don´t let us without your presence'¦

I just hope this is a vacation time, no more than a few months'¦ but the way it was anouced'¦. man, just being there to understand'¦. At the end I just want to run away from all that crowded noise.

A very intense concert with the band and the people together in a moment of pure love and trust! We are PJ, PJ are us!

'o melhor lugar do mundo para terminar digressões'  '“ the best place in the world to end tours'¦ by Eddie vedder'¦

A really beautiful concert with so many beautiful people'¦. all with Pearl Jam since ever and forever!

Good news for Soundgarden fans.  9

Correct. It'd be hard for him to do both. 16

Yeah no kidding.  I remember they'd have a new drummer every album back when they started.  I guess they finally found their guy with Matt and feel like they don't want to find a replacement for him.

Pearl Jam Put On Hold

by Paul Cashmere - July 13 2010

Pearl Jam ended their world tour in Oeiras, Portgual on Saturday night with a gobsmacker of a statement. Eddie Vedder stunned fans when he said the band was going into hiatus.

Eddie said the show was the band'™s last show 'in a long time. 'Thank you for coming to our last show. Not our last ever, but our last in a long time, he said.

Pearl Jam formed in Seattle in 1990 and has gone non-stop ever since. It has been one of the rock world'™s most prolific runs.

Founding members Eddie Vedder (vocals), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar) and Mike McCready (lead guitar) have always been in the band.

The only revolving chair in Pearl Jam has been the drummer'™s chair. Original drummer Dave Krusen left the band after recording the debut '˜Ten'™. He left before the album took off and was replaced by Matt Chamberlain. Chamberlain lasted only a few months and was replaced with Dave Abbruzzese who was fired after the third album '˜Vitalogy'™. Then came Jack Irons who left in 1988 and was replaced with Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron (who at least has a job to go too because Soundgarden are getting back together).

'Have fun tonight because we don'™t know when else we will have fun, Vedder told the crowd.

So here is the last Pearl Jam setlist for a long, long time:

They are great live.  I'd highly recommend.  I was a huge fan back in the day, then kind of lost touch for awhile.  Backspacer was a real good album though and I finally got to see them a couple years back and again this year.  Great shows.

Unfortunately it looks like we'll have to wait awhile until they tour again.
