After being nominated by his wife, Perla Hudson, and dear friend, Clifton Collins, it is with great pleasure to let you know that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced today that Slash will be a recipient of a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 2011. The date of the ceremony has not been scheduled yet, but once it is we will let you know and we hope that you would be able to join us in celebrating this honor with Slash.

Cool for him I suppose. But I gotta say it feels somewhat somewhat TMZish. I'm not surprised his wife nominated him she seems to love this shit and I'm sure she will try and take as much of the moment for herself too.
All the celebrity/papparazzi world she seems to thrive in kinda tarnishes Slash a bit for me. I still love him but I just wish he wouldn't get involved in a lot of TMZ style shit!
I suppose I just hope he gets to enjoy the moment himself without having it highjacked as a promo opportunity for his Mrs.

Doesn't mean anything. Anyone can "buy" a star as long as they have the $15,000 dollar bread to put up for it.
I could have one, and i've never step foot in Hollywood.
$15,00 sounds like Cheap publicity to me.
Had Axl any sense he would have bought a Star around the time CD came out, the magazine articles would have been something like:
"Rockstar Axl Rose honoured with Hollywood Star"

Yessir
The number figure might be off, but you can buy one as long as you have the money. It wasn't always that way. Originall Hollywood would honor only great stars as a means of publicity for the city. However low on funds, way back they opened it up for anyone who could pony up the money.
I do think you HAVE to be some sort of entertainer to apply tho.

Regardless of the politics of it all, I still think Slash is more than deserving, that guy IS a star!
