Re: 2009-10 Chinese Democracy World Tour
yes.....with realistic expectations and proper scheduling. 3000-5000 seat theatre venues in smaller markets and arenas in the big markets such as LA, New York, Boston, and Chicago. Like I said, they are simply choosing the current touring locations now because I think they need money.
And don't put words in my mouth....I never said the "US can't wait to get them to tour here." Come on man!
Re: 2009-10 Chinese Democracy World Tour
Well, they could also tour county fairs at that rate. Anybody could tour the proper venues...the point is that the proper venue keeps shrinking in the US.
And I know you didn't say that or I'd have quoted you...it was a purposeful exaggeration to help make the point.
Re: 2009-10 Chinese Democracy World Tour
US doesn't want GNR. They've made that quite clear. GNR doesn't really NEED USA either, they have plenty of other places to make money. Especially in South America and Eastern Europe. And they do quite well too. This band ain't very *new GNR* anymore, and yet they still draw good crowds.
Re: 2009-10 Chinese Democracy World Tour
Did you take a poll? Again, no proof of that whatsoever.
As I said, there is no need for proof. The burden is on the other side. The fact that they are not touring their "home" country speaks volumes for the interest here; so does the apparent fact that they can make more money anywhere esle but here.
What really needs to be proven? You've admitted they can make more money touring other places...

2006 pollstar numbers for the us/north american tour. $500,380 a night divided by a ticket price of $59.42 is 8421 in attendance per show. Real numbers.
The last 2 US tours had very similar numbers. There is no disputing that. The 2010 Canadian tour averaged about 8000 a night...consistent with 2002 and 2006.
As for 2010, I think a US TOUR would do the same. Buzz, you don't. No way to win the argument unless a US Tour happens. Until then, I am out of the conversation but you can continue to look in to your crystal ball all you want. You don't know why they aren't touring here and you don't know how they would do here. You are simply being the negative nanny that you are.
Re: 2009-10 Chinese Democracy World Tour
Madagas your brain is solid, and your a good cat. Your points are valid.
But new GN'R is finished in the U.S. We want the real band.
The best case scenario for them is major cites. Miami, New York, Chicago, Dallas, LA, Seattle that way they cover pretty much most of the country.
Attendence has NOT been the same. It's gradually declined since 1993.
Re: 2009-10 Chinese Democracy World Tour
I'm pretty sure I do know why they aren't touring here, and I am also pretty sure they won't say the real reason why they aren't. I don't need anybody to prove anything to me because I can see the situation for what it is. I guess if that makes me a negative nanny, then so be it. Either way, I'm somewhere in a long line of "negative" and "positive" GnR fans and none of us can buy tickets for GnR shows in the US for whatever reason.
