Re: Slash Ponders GN'R Reunion 2013
no doubt.....I have always thought a Gnr album in 95 or whatever around then would have sucked...nobodies head was in the right place. It was game over at the time.
I'm not so sure about that. I recon the band chemestry on TSI is killer...like Slash, Gilby, Matt and Duff locking in.
And IFOS is a damn good album riff wise, if band politics at the time had allowed Axl to add his touches and his vocals to it, and maybe one or two of his epic ballads (some kind of catcher type track etc) then I think it would have been a damn fine record.

Re: Slash Ponders GN'R Reunion 2013
Didn't we do this "fantasy 1995 album" thing before? I never understood Slash's hissy fit over Huge doubling up his guitar parts on Sympathy For The Devil (not least because, um, I think it sounds pretty good). Most of the killer riffs on Chinese Democracy have Huge's co-writing credits on 'em, too. Imagine if the SFTD line-up had recorded an album... you'd have stuff like Dime Store Rock and Beggars and Hangers-On, but with Axl-penned lyrics instead of "nervous twitchin' in my hands", Fall To Pieces (though it'd sound more like the "acoustic" demo version, I imagine), This I Love, maybe IRS, TWAT and Catcher if Huge was in the mix... might be interesting to try and cobble together a tracklist based on what we know.
