Matt would be there more ceremoniously than anything. It would be about Slash appeasing egos. But if he chooses to go with Steven, and no one else, I wouldn't be shocked either.

And as for timetables...  Axl can want it all he wants, but as you can see with the Azoff and Universal situation, he's already having to deal with being blacklisted. It'll just intensify as he gets older, and demand for a reunion increases.

the band doesn't determine who gets inducted....RRHOF chooses who to induct. Matt was a hired hand. Simple as that...as is Gilby, Dizzy, Tommy, etc....

Neemo, as the formula SLASH CAME UP WITH, Axl had 42% of the writing credits for the original band, AFD and UYI era. So much for the Slashites view that all the band members were equal. Obviously, the band members themselves didn't see themselves as equal. But, don't worry, the internet psycho fans know more than even Slash! Too funny...

New GN'R on a best case scenario doesn't have three years left in it. Hate to break the news.

It survived years and years with no album. It sure as hell can survive 3 years with an ongoing tour and a semi-new album.

It goes on until Axl doesn't want to anymore.

and according to marc canter most of the songs were written after the AFD lineup was solidified

He also claimed "Don't Cry" was written when Tracci Gunns was still in the band... devious character that Canter be.

very possible as Don't Cry was written by Izzy and Axl.

Bottom line is GNR has 3 massive Albums...AFD the most massive by far....then UYI......of course we love Lies and TSI but the media only remembers a song against gays and a song by charles manson on those.

So if you think about it Sorum played on 50% of the bands sucessful shit....like YCBM, NR, KOHD and so on. It's enough to get him ranked above a truely hired hand. It's not like he only came in for a tour or something.

But i'll grant if it comes down to it it should go to steven...he was first..and he was AFD...and that's what counts....but i'm just saying the idea that no one gives a fuck about matt is wrong....he got a lot of press as the GNR drummer when he was in VR....the media tended to forget about steve at times. So i wouldnt be surprised if they both got an invite.

As for the idea that new GNR is dead in 3 years. Explain to me why. Axl carried on when slash left in 1995. He carried on when duff bailed in 1997. He carried on after bucket left. He carried on after robin left. He's carried on in the face of a ton of public critizism and abuse about not just getting back with the old guys. He's out there NOW doing his thing, even after Chinese sales got fucked over by whatever caused this current dispute (himself/Azoff/bestbuy take your pick). The point is....why when he's persisted through all that drama would he suddenly cave now? Why does new GNR not have 3 years left in the tank? You are talking about a guy that spent 15 to give you the current album. And he's already hinted that maybe there's more in the backroom. And so has the band. If you think about it, there's zero reason to think that anything would change in the next 3 years. Other than Axl+slash suddenly becomming friends again, there's no motivation for axl to quit doing what he's done since at least 1995. If anything, it's going better now than before.

canter has nothing to gain or lose, and he was there from the beginning and has notes, pictures & recorded audio and video...obviously he was very thorough in his documentation and nobody from that time frame has stepped forward to dispute his book that i have heard of....i kinda tend to beleive what he has had published in Reckless Road...its prolly the most unbiased and truthful account of the origins of GnR that we will ever see

Slash came up with the formula but i think its bullshit if u use that formula to try and show who was more important etc.

If Axl had LA Guns music to sing over.. this forum wouldn't exist i don't give a shit what anybody says.

Ever listened to those Hollywood Rose songs..... no way that makes an impact

music influences lyrics and vocal melodies

its the chicken and the egg scenario but if Slash doesn't come up with the SCOM intro and Axl doesn't hear it.. that song doesn't exist and there is no GNR. cause without that song, one can argue GNR would never have broke huge.

I think Steven is EXTREMELY significant. Steven may be an 80's looking guy and a drug addict but u can't tell me AFD's drumming isn't some of the most melodic/hooked filled drumming of all time. I could give a shit if a guy can double bass at 160bpm while tom rolling/cymbal striking

give me the dude with the groove and one of  the greatest air drumming CDs of all time.
