AC/DC Forced To Shorten Oslo Concert

by Paul Cashmere - June 1 2010

AC/DC fans in Oslo on Sunday got a cutdown version of the show because of a plane malfunction.

The band was due to leave Berlin but their plane had a mechanical problem forcing AC/DC to look for another chartered plane.

By the time they made the alternative arrangements, they did not get to the stage at Valle Novin in Oslo, Norway until 9:45pm.

Norway has strict laws governing curfew and the band had to get off stage by 11pm. (They were through until 11:15pm).

However, the setlist suffered with '˜Shot Down In Flames'™, '˜War Machine'™, '˜Black Ice'™ and '˜For Those About To Rock'™ being cut from show.

Blabbermouth.net has asked the question if this was the first time ever since the release of '˜For Those About To Rock'™ in 1981 that AC/DC has not performed the song in concert? It might well be.

I wonder if they adjusted the rules for GNR last night, if Norway does indeed have a strict curfew of not playing past 11pm, because GNR didn't go ON until around then and played till about 1:30am by my calculations.

Valle Hovin was an outdoor event. Spektrum is an indoor even in the middle of the city. Axl don't have to worry about curfews. He came on at 23:00 in 2006, and the show was over around 01:00. Valle Hovin is a semi-suburb area. It's not the same deal.

No worries.

Phew, glad I never bit the bullet and flew over for this clunker. I havnt bought a ticket for Reading yet, and to be honest Axls tardy timekeeping this year is putting me off spending a shitload of money to see this band. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of a dressing room when Axls ready to go on stage and he then spends 3 hours waiting on Frank or Dizzy to arrive...

Of all things I care little of Axl's time schedule. I just adapt my time to his and I'm fine. Won't go down to the venue until over 21:00 tomorrow.

If I was in the band however, I would be majorly pissed.

Sorry guys, but my videos from last night turned out horrible! Picture quality was ok, but the sound was downright horrible. I thought it was a good idea to cover up the "mic-hole" with my finger to avoid distortion. Boy was that a mistake! sad

I will try again tomorrow and see how it works out without my
damn finger...  smile

Just wondering.  I've heard that GNR went on 3 hours late.  Is that 3 hours AFTER Danko Jones got done playing or 3 hours after the doors opened?  Neither is good, but the former is much worse obviously and near riot inducing.
