Nah.

I never really *use* my GNR *experience* of posting online. It's pretty gay I'd say.

One of the things I said back then was that if this band would fail, it would be due to lack of communication. Im not sure if it did or does or didnt.

Tommy hates the media....it started back when he was with the Replacements in the 80's.

He did do a good bunch of interviews during the Village Gorilla Head era. He was mostly asked the standard GNR questions at that point, to which he often gave good, albeit succint, responses.

Some of that stuff was really cool. I remember a podcast where he said some of the producers were good (Sean Beavan) and others were not so much (Roy Thomas Baker). He also admitted most of the songs were written in '98-'01. Those were heavy things to drop in 2004.

I expect him to talk more when his next solo album comes out.

Things he have said in tweets, mentions from the stage, his deciscion to chat on the forums instead of going through magazines tells me yes. If YOU choose to ignore it, hmm, well that's another story....

Almost the entire album have been played live on this tour!
In this day and age, an album is promotion for the tour, not the other way around. You gettin' old Dave?

And that is exactly why most gnr fans hate Axl Rose and why CD flopped.

Chinese Democracy have sold millions of copies and gone Gold and Platinum all over the world. Could it have sold even more with focus on singles and videos? Sure! Just because it flopped according to your expectations, don't make it so!

If Axl respected his fans he would never no show gigs, he would never bitch at his fans in tweets, he would go on at a normal hour when he plays a show. Those are just a few ways he does not respect his fans.

As for promoting his album, he started playing less and less  CD songs as the tour went along, and three of those songs he kept playing he was been playing for almost 10  years.  How is playing songs live even promoting the album? Those people are already BUYING tix to the shows and most likely bought CD.
And he has been doing the CD tour since 2002 you can hardly claim touring is promoting the album since Axl is not even promoting this tour. You never heard Axl talking about it now do you?

Axl does not do interviews, there is no video, he disappeared for a  year after CD dropped, yeah he really promoted this album. And no those forum chats dont count since, like I said, only the  die hard fans who post on the boards read about them.

CD flopped big time, it has only sold 3-4m world wide, and has not even sold one million yet in the US, that is a huge flop.  And going platinum does not mean anything, that is just for units shipped not sold, and some countries you only have to sell 100k to go plantium.  This album was expected to sell 3m in the US alone, and its only sold that much world wide, how is tht not a flop for the so called most anciciptated album of all time and an album that cost over 13m and took 10 years to put out?

It flopped by everyone's expectations.  The label didnt care because they made that deal with BB that made their money back for what they put into it.

In my view and many fans view, things are great! The band sound great, they seem happy, the fans at the shows seem exctatic!! I'm excited as hell for the two shows I'm attending here in Norway in a few weeks. I view the current status in a postive light....

You can troll and piss on it at every angle you choose, you ain't bringing nobody down to your childish "butt-hurt-my-favourite-players-left" -level. Period!

The fan-sites and the band seem to have a negative effect on you... Guys like you who put yourselfs through this day in and day out will allways be a mystery to me. I got my own theory on it, but I'll keep that to myself.

Try and focus on something positive in your life. Take a walk outside, whistle a happy tune or something... Things are not going to go according to your gameplan any time soon.

Madagas, and others make a strong case that that isnt the case...if you take into cinsideration what the best buy deal did for the advance debt that gnr had incurred then its a different story...The best buy deal may actually mean that everythign form here on out is gravy to the label...maybe the next time around (CDII and maybe III) that Geffen will devote a bit more $$$ to more promo...maybe the loss of the financial burden that GnR itself may be a bit more outgoing for the next disk...

as the days, weeks, months go by its much more apparent to me that CD was reelased for the internet communities...TBH i dont think that ayone outside the communities will appreciate the long, winding, painfull road that led up to the release of chinese democracy

The best buy deal does not make CD a success. Album sales show that CD was a huge failure.  3-4m albums for guns n roses is a huge failure. That is less than TSI, and its much less than their greatest hits album sold.  CD is not even in billboard top 200 where as GH was for a few years.

CD wasn't released for the internet community, it was supposed to be the most anticipated album of all time. Most gnr and music fans just didnt like what they heard thus didn't buy it. Claiming it was released for the internet community  shows you know it was a huge failure and you are trying to down play that.

CD was Axl trying to prove to the world he was guns n roses, and didn need slash or izzy but he proved that was just not true.

Again there you go with the trolling name again.

Nothing I am doing is trolling.   All I do is give my view and most gnr fans views (off these boards) what they think of this band.

You can be a fan and not agree or like everything they do.  Most gnr fans were not happy when Izzy left, yet does that make them a troll because they voiced their opinion of it? Of course not.

The only thing that has a negative effect on me are the people who cant accept not everyone will have the same view as them and call me a troll because I disagree.

There are things I like about this band and things I dont like but I have every right to speak out about the things I dont like.   You should just relax more and accept not everyone is going to have your opinion.

I am not like you and others, I dont just accept Axls antics, I will actually call him on it and speak out went I disagree with the things he does.

People have always complained about something in this band since the beginning, be it BH wearing a bucket on his head, Robin being a goth, what ever, but of course those people always had the right to speak out because they looked different.

But we cannot about Ron because he is such a nice guy.

That actually makes a lot of sense considering the tracklist is 90% of what had been gossiped about during the entire time leading up to it's release.

It's like they purposely put out that collection of songs to shut us up and keep us somewhat happy.
