Re: Its really sad only the new members of Gnr are the ones who speak
Anyone else think its really sad and a joke, that only the newer members of gnr are the ones who are always giving interviews (DJ and Ron).
They have not even been in the band that long and they act like they have been here since the beginning. Sure Ron has been here since 2006 but he is still a replacement for buckethead and he didnt write anything on the album.
You would think Axl, Tommy and or Fortus would speak out more.
It just shows you how the scab members of this band are just using gnr to whore their name out for when they leave they can get famous.
I almost puked when DJ was whoring out his iphone app during that one interview.

get over it...that being said, Tommy has been tweeting and showing vids, etc. He is much more active than before. Axl is Axl.....DJ bugs me too, but Ron is a completely genuine guy. Lay off him...his heart is in the right place.

I don't think it's a joke. Sure as a fan I'd enjoy it if Axl spoke publicly more often, stuff like Eddie Trunk was way cool, but realisticly he's had a turblent time with the media in the past, so I can understand why he's just not that into it.
I personally enjoy that Ron and DJ give interviews, I'd find it strange if they were also silent, the years where no one said anything much where a bit odd.

Well Ron's parts to the album are what pushed it up from demo level to finished to my mind, but your results may vary.
I don't think anyone acts like they've been there from the beginning, Ron has always been very vocal that he's trying to do his best in the band, and that he respects the previous memebers but doesn't try to emulate their styles because it's better when people play as themselves. He's also talked about how he enjoy's buckets work and the work of similar guitarists, and a while back he joked about how it broke his fingers learning those parts. So I don't think he pretends he's always been there.
As for DJ, well I think he's just excited to be in GNR, and I can't hold that against him.
You would think Axl, Tommy and or Fortus would speak out more.
Why? Because of the positive reaction DJ and Bumble just got in this thead ?
If Axl were to comment more, there would probably be more drama if he felt his words were abused (see Get in the Ring lol) or they'd attack him for the changes to GNR, or he'd end up talking about future projects and then all hell would start up again if it never eventuated. if I were him i'd probably stay away too. What does he have to gain really. He chats to us online sometimes, and tweets, and that's a lot more than we used to get post 1995.
As for tommy and fortus, well fortus is usually bashed when he does an interview, and at the end of the day he's the rhythm player and tommy is the bass player, I guess people would enjoy hearing from them, but it's mostly the singer/ lead guitarists that media outlets obsess over.
Re: Its really sad only the new members of Gnr are the ones who speak
Axl has a Twitter account, and Tweets typically when something is up, sometimes over on GNR's Twitter, but mostly his.
In 2010, I don't know how much more you want. Axl hates doing interviews, and this cuts out the middle man. Ron talks quite a bit, because the fans all love Ron, and i'm sure he says yes to just about every interview.I think four years, maybe more if you believe that 2004 rumor, Ron has enough time in to know what's up.
Fortus, Dizzy, Chris... all have did their share of interviews over the years. DJ hasn't had enough time in to be doing as much as he's doing interview-wise. I say that, because I don't think he's gonna really be able to answer alot of the questions most people want to ask, just due to lack of time.
Tommy is the mystery to me. That guy is probably a wealth of information, but short of videos on his website, he doesn't say much. He did an interview awhile back I thought in a guitar mag, but hell... I think Axl's did more over the same span of time, and we know how much he keeps his mouth shut.
Re: Its really sad only the new members of Gnr are the ones who speak
Tommy is doing more now than he ever did. He's really the only one I care about for GNR information. Bumble haven't been around long enough to give info about what WE wanna hear about...the 2000-2005 GNR and what was happening...recordings etc etc. That's what WE wanna hear. DJ Ashba is great for the kids and all, but isn't really interesting from this aspect. Fortus never really gives any good interviews and Dizzy doesn't seem to bother too much either. But for me it's Tommy and he says different things on his website and Twitter.
