man i so hope that this band makes its way to Ontario 
anyone think that slash has paid attention to the current gnr? maybe felt he needed to make himself able to play his best? he really seems to have taken it to another level...or maybe his sobriety has given him the motivation to pour all hes got into his playing? dunno, but he's really playing amazing in the recent clips i've seen

i dunno...for me myles doesnt have to be axl...and bumble/dj/richard dont have to be slash/izzy, i'm quite content to accept both sides as what they are, and enjoy each of them without trying to compare pros and cons from each
for me it really takes away from the products themselves when i think about all the baggage that unpacked itself along the way...

he's very sharp right now.....but, after a few listens, that dude singing can't hold Axl's jock.
I agree. Myles voice is already declining with me. It's kind of irritating. It's like 2002 Axl, but without the Axl-isms.
Slash sounds great though.

Just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Besides the Slash solo stuff, I had never heard Myles. Not an Alter Bride listener.
Anyhow, he's a good singer. I don't listen to a lot of singers because frankly I don't like many. Good voice, but on the GNR stuff, it just sounds like a poor imitation. He sounds like he's shouting all the time, and the high screams/notes are just screechy. Yeah, Axl screams and is screechy too, but in the right way.
Whatever. Doesn't really matter to me. I won't ever have to hear him again. But he's good enough for most and that's what counts.

I thought the same thing, and he is out to put those myths to rest, he is definately playing like he has something to prove. And I don't want to start a war or flame fest, but the gap between Slash and Finck just got that much bigger, because I don't think anyone can say "Slash is sloppy and makes lots of mistakes" anymore. Good for Slash for stepping up and actually improving in the live setting. How many 44 year olds can say that?

Although Myles can hold notes for quite a while. It just sounds more like 2002 Axl without the Axl.
Slash is on fire though.

^ I enjoyed these versions with myles. But i don't think there's ever going to be anyone who can hit those notes, with the texture, intensity, pitch and passion Axl does. So i didn't at any stage mean to suggest he's better than Axl.
However, what i found was that live he was surprisingly fun to watch and very much suitiable for VR IMO. In person this gig was just so damn kickass. It's a shame they only booted 10 of the songs too...the setlist was much longer!

It's also kinda sad to watch. You can tell Slash really enjoys those old Guns songs. He can't get that same feeling from the audience with his Snakepit/VR/Solo material. Damn....you got me all teary eyed thinking about the old days.
