Re: Slash 'too scared' to call Yorke
Radiohead is alot like Pink Floyd to me in that, in my youth, I didn't get what the big deal was, but then as I got older, both bands music became more appealing. It's more of a chill, reflective vibe with the both of them. And I will say that, IMO, Radiohead is a step or two below Floyd, but still very good.
Then, NIN would be the exact opposite. I was their biggest fan when I was a teenager. The Downward Spiral was an epic album for me. But nowadays, I wouldn't be caught dead at one of their shows. That dark, angry thing just doesn't do it for me anymore.
And hopefully, Slash can get up the nerve to call Yorke for SlashII.

Re: Slash 'too scared' to call Yorke
yeah i'm not a huge NIN fan, but I do like some of their stuff. Reznor has quite a way with lyrics sometimes, it's almost poetic what he says, like makes you think. And some of the musical stuff is intresting too....like all kinds of textures and stuff.
But they're definately to me one of those groups where I like a few tracks but don't want to listen to hours of it or every record.
I actually really dug them when i saw it live too. Some of the synth parts on guitar was cool...like robin playing one of the synth lines here sounds fucking cool....
Re: Slash 'too scared' to call Yorke
peopel told me for years to listen to OK Computer as it was supposed to be a huge album, one of the best i was told...damn near bored me to tears TBH
i know alot of people love Radiohead but aside from a couple tunes they are pretty blah if you ask me....
NIN and Radiohead being the modern version of PF? pa-lease, they both make me wanna puke...Reznor sucks, his whole career success is riding on the coattails of Head Like a Hole and Hurt IMHO
OK Computer is one of my favorite/top ten albums of all time. I like it more than Dark Side of the Moon.:haha:
Re: Slash 'too scared' to call Yorke
Slash being too afraid to call certain artists and going the safe route is the whole problem I have with the album. I'm glad other people like it, I really do. But its really generic and lame to me. Mostly because of the singers he got. Maybe if he would have got Yorke Jack White would have agreed to sing on it. And this would have been a totally different album.
But the second I saw this thread title I knew Saint Is a Sinner Too was the song he wrote for him

I like how that song ended up anyway, so I am cool with it.
Re: Slash 'too scared' to call Yorke
spin's best albums of the last 25 years...funny how OK COMPUTER nestled in right in front of AFD! Both got lucky to barely beat out The Replacement's Tim.
