No one was talking about Axl. We're talking about Slash, and only Slash. There is no Axl vs. Slash argument in what i'm saying. At least not at this time.
HA, I knew that would piss you off... Slash has put out some awesome songs since GNR for sure. "Vocalise" and "Watch This" alone kill all your credibility. Both of those songs are awesome!

5 O'clock is one of the greatest (and most underrated) guitar albums ever.
He did a lot of other cool songs, too. Shine, Serial Killer, Ain't Life Grand, YGNR, Slither, Messages, Dime, Vocalise, Obsession, Obsession Confession, Baby Let Me Hold Your Hand, Fields of Joy, Always on the Run, Street Child, Mother Maria, Watch This are all 10/10 songs.

On Topic: Good version of Slither, prefer Kennedy on vocals instead of Weiland but I don't like him on the GNR songs- don't think he suits them.

To be fair, many of you wouldn't accept anybody other than Axl on the GnR songs. I think non-GnR diehards have a much more favorable impression of his version.
To be fair: it took time for us, 'Slashites' to get used to the other guys, who aren't Slash, playing those magnificent solos. Now the Axlites have all the time in the world to get used to Myles who sings these songs just perfect.

I love anyone and everyone who plays GNR. I used to go see an 80's metal cover band (Aquanett) and they'd play WTTJ, PC, and Patience on occasion. And they were AWESOME! So I have no problem with any of that. In fact, I'd prefer to hear mostly GNR (UYI era) from Slash/Myles, with a touch of VR and solo stuff.

Slash is finally the top-dog of the mix, which is not a surprise. He was never allowed to upstage the vocalist in GNR/VR; now the vocals play second fiddle and Myles Kennedy's serviceable vocals are dumped down. The positive side in this is that Slash plays well enough to earn the limelight, even if poor Myles is pretty much treated as just another instrument in his backing band.
In name of equality, I broke the setlist down to see how much of Slash's different bands are represented.

Yeah, that's a Wolfmother song. I think the only song of theirs I really know. I could use more UYI songs, instead of the AFD songs. We hear those enough. Selfish, I know, but that's how I feel.
