all these little charts are great but I will wait to see what the world chart says and the US Billboard 200 chart says. Those usually come out on Thurs/Fri each week.
Yeah I thought iTunes was the most popular way to buy music these days but while Slash seems to be dominating the iTunes charts he's only projected to be #3 on the billboard 200. At least, last I saw. Maybe ROCK fans use iTunes most.

The U.S. Itunes chart isn't a "little chart". Everyone and their grandma uses it. It can actually make or break careers. M.I.A. got huge in 2008 not because everyone bought Kala, but because everyone was buying Paper Planes on Itunes. GaGa exploded due to Just Dance skyrocketing on Itunes which caused a chain reaction.

ONLY number 3? GNR fans were doing cartwheels when CD hit that spot. Its not good enough for Slash though? 
Like U2, I think he picked the wrong first single and its gonna cause the album to stall and then nosedive. The number 3 slot on Billboard is impressive, but the sales will be lower because of the single chosen. By the Sword is NOWHERE on the Itunes chart while Beautiful Dangerous is actually charting. Same thing happened to U2. No one cared about the single Get On Your Boots, and non singles from the record were charting instead. When fans have to pick the songs themselves they want to download(like I did with Promise and Ghost), your album is showing signs of trouble.

really? i think it was a great choice...it really grows on you, and its doing amazing in my area on the radio
Yeah, it was obvious a while back. It's still not on the Billboard rock chart online, which does the top 30. I actually like it better now too Neemo, but radio nowadays is not good to "growers."

maybe so, but its a strong enough track with a led zeppelin vibe, then he can come back with the ozzy track or back to cali or the kid rock track...even possible he may throw out the cornell track if an SG buzz starts on the eve of the reunion tour..there are lots of choices for the next single..the first track is just to wet peoples appetite...get them warmed up to the fact that slash has an album out

First of all, Slash being in the popular music scene at this point in his career as a solo act is monumental. The guy was an afterthought 10 years, and through hardwork, determination, and smart marketing decisions has returned to the A-list of the music industry without hiding behind the GNR brand. There's absolutely no denying that.
Secondly, I have a feeling that BTS was chosen as a single because Stockdale was willing to help promote. It's a song that benefits both Slash's album & Stockdale name. Was Cornell willing to do the talkshow circuit with Slash? Not slagging on Cornell at all, just raising the point of finding a singer willing/wanting to sing the song night after night as Slash's second banana.

Great point. Cornell has massive fish to fry with Soundgarden and he probably regards Promise as just a throwaway track and a chance to work with Slash. No way in hell would he actually promote that song. The Fergie track that's charting is basically an identical situation. Fergie has other, bigger things on her plate. While i do like the song Ghost, Ian is apparently working on a new Cult album.
While this was starting to look like a Santana type situation when it was first announced, it most certainly isn't shaping up to take off like that did.

I would not count out the Kid Rock track as a potential single, its made for radio... Maybe Slash should just release "Watch This" so he doesn't have to worry about a singer making the late night circuit. HA..
