Re: Slash's album sales predictions
Hits Daily Double has their prediction based on first-day sales. I won't ruin the fun. But if you want to know, click here: http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/new … ?news08015
Many of us in the ballpark.
Re: Slash's album sales predictions
Yeah billboard is predicting top 10 with around 50K too. Which honestly isn't bad considering its somewhat limited distribution (I think), no video, not much radio play for lead single. However, it IS Slash. He's been pumping this thing for over a year now and he has some monster names on the album, so maybe it's not so good. Certainly doesn't live up to the expectations that some people had.
I'm not sure there's a HIT single to help it explode either. Then again, I thought there were 14 potential hit singles on Chinese Democracy, so what do I know? But I feel "By The Sword" is the strongest track and that hasn't taken off. I know people love to throw out the Fergie song, but I just don't think fans of Fergie would necessarily be interested in such a song. Not their style.
Re: Slash's album sales predictions
I hate to say it, but I'm already tired of this album.
Yeah, I'm not ready to throw in the towel on the album just yet because I really do dig 5 songs on the album. And there are parts of the other songs that I enjoy but they haven't hit me yet and I find myself just wanting to listen to the 5 songs I like (Kennedyx2, Kid Rock, Fergie, Stockdale). It's still early, but the overall excitement just isn't there.

I was pumped to catch some shows since Axl is ignoring the States, but it doesn't look like either act will be playing in the NorthEast / New England any time soon, so my excitement has really cooled-off.
I imagine I'll have to wait 7 months to go see Slash play 90 minutes away on a Wednesday night in November, and then wait another 4 years for him to come around again.
And, yes, I'm whining - I know.
