Re: SLASH Says 'Chinese Democracy' Was 'The Perfect AXL Record'
I kind of hope that there's never a reunion now because I think Axl and Slash are both alot happier doing their own things these days. Anyway atleast these days Slash isn't talking shit about Axl, to bad Axl is still talking shit about Slash, but to me it doesn't really matter what shit talking goes on, because I am still a fan of Axl and GN'R and I am a Slash fan, and there's no rule saying that I can't like both.

Guess he heard his own record.
Of cousre Slash would love to work with Axl again... Who wouldn't?

I kid, I kid!
I'd love to see them work together if there was a mutual respect. The songs Axl wrote and Slash put finishing touches on like Estranged are proof that they can create magic together.
I don't see any chance of mutual respect, though I believe the hatred Axl shows towards Axl is really painful respect from Axl. Slash clearly respects Axl, but I think at this point they are both better off without each other. Maybe something could happen down the road, but I don't think anything good can come if they were to try to patch things up now.
I find it ironic that Axl is a million times better in the studio than he is live, and I think Slash is so much better live than he is in the studio. Another in the long line of major differences between the two people and personalities.

I'd like to see even if no reuinion ever happens, both of them happy to know someone that played a big part in the other's life, and both recgonising each other as unsually talented, even in the context of prefering not to work together again.
I completely agree. It would be great to see them at peace. If that means they never even think of a musical reunion, so be it. Slash seems to have made his peace for the most part. Hopefully Axl can let go of his anger at some point.

Yeah I was thinking about that today. Axl's rants towards and about Slash haven't bothered me in the past. He's free to speak his mind and if he feels he needs to get things off his chest, then great. But Slash just seems like such a down to earth and good guy, and at least NOW he's saying all the right things when it comes to Axl. Obviously he did plenty of things in the past that pissed Axl off. But I just wish Axl would leave those things in the past and move on. Maybe THEN, the fanbase wouldn't be so divided and could enjoy both Slash and Axl's work.
