You could cherry-pick from Ozzmosis, Down To Earth, and Black Rain and come up with a great album.
I haven't heard a great album from Ozzy since 1991, so it's gonna be tough to impress me. Maybe Gus G will breathe some new life into it (no offense to Zakk).

I'd agree about picking some songs from Ozzmosis and Down To Earth to make a great album, but Down To Earth was a big disappointment.

Down to Earth had "Gets Me Through" on it though, and that song is a muthafucka.

Listen.... Zakk is one of my heroes, and I'll admit. He's been mailing it in with the songwriting since Stronger Than Death. He said he wanted Black Rain to "Piss all over No More Tears"... and he failed. Miserably. I had hope. It left in a hurry. I agree with Axlin.. You could cherry pick a badass Ozzy record outta those records... But in all honesty... Zakk should have stayed gone after Ozzmosis. That way, his legacy as Ozzy's Guitarist would have remained intact and untarnished. As it stands, instead of really working to create an Ozzy Osbourne Masterpiece, as he did before P&G... He continued to take the "Black Label" approach in the studio with the old man... And it was showing. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE some of the songs on BR.... But as a whole, it ultimately turned out to be a disappointment.

You can hear a fresher sound and it's the most modern sounding Ozzy song I've heard. It wasn't half bad. Much better than "Never Gonna Stop". It can be played next to any modern rock song on a station like Octane on Sirus radio.
Zakk has been in a creative rut for a few years now. I hope the extra time he can spend on the new BLS album with the time away from Ozzy and having his own studio will really pay off.

I wouldn't say I liked all of Black Rain, but there was 3 or 4 songs I really dug on it, so i think it's harsh to say he hadn't done anything good in years.
Zakk is an absolute mother on the guitar...but I do find his BLS stuff get's a bit 'samey" but I guess that's the style he loves playing. The guy sure can play though...which is more than can be said for many modern guitarists.
EDIT: To Clarrify - I LOVE some BLS songs too. Just like when I listen to all the albums of it it's too much in a row. But I can make myself a "best of" disk or two that rock's my world!
