Re: Is it Just me
Or has slash broken from the riff rock that dominated his two snakepit releases and almost all his GNR work. He seems to have moved away from contemporary riffs on most tracks going instead for musical passages. the only riffs that come to mind when I think of this album are By the sword Ghost and Promises.

Well, maybe since he wasn't with Guns or VR he tried some different things?

So it is just me
I'll post as soon as I get the album, but I stopped listening the stream after three songs.

Re: Is it Just me
I love the riff rock that Slash is famous for. And for the most part on the more rocking tracks on this album, it's just power chords, which is a damn shame, because he's capable of so much more!
Re: Is it Just me
Man, some of you guys are wayyyyyyy too hung up on riffs.
Well he hasn't replaced them with anything better. Instead of giving up on riffs and moving on to some new form of musical object he simply digressed and decayed back to playing boring old whogivesafuck power chords.
I'm not hung up on riffs but I am hung up on good music
