Re: Your top 5
Not sure if a topic like this exists or if it would interest anyone. But here's the idea. You pick a band/artist, and list your top 5 songs from that band/artist. The next person can use the same band if they have a differing top 5 or choose a new band/artist altogether. I think it might be interesting to see the differing opinions just based recently on how people rank some of the Slash tracks. Some of the ones I don't like, others seem to love and vice versa. Same with some of the Chinese Democracy tracks.
I'll start off with 2 bands.
Tesla
5) Caught Up In A Dream
4) Signs
3) The Way It Is
2) What You Give
1) Love Song
Led Zeppelin
5) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
4) D'Yer Mak'er
3) What Is And What Should Never Be
2) When The Levee Breaks
1) Stairway To Heaven
Re: Your top 5
Yeah we did a similar thing a couple years back, but it doesn't hurt to do it again.....
That's a good Tesla list.....
Since I'm involved in yet another Cornell discussion, I'll post my top 5 songs(at the moment, it always changes) from his two biggest bands....
Soundgarden
Overfloater
Never the Machine Forever
Head Down
Jesus Christ Pose
Superunknown
Audioslave
Cochise
Yesterday to Tomorrow
Show Me How To Live
Like A Stone
Dandelion

Man James. I went and re-listened to the Soundgarden tracks you listed and I learned that I wasted my money on Down On The Upside. Not necessarily because of the quality of the songs, but I honestly didn't recall those tracks one bit. I must've listened to the CD once or twice all the way through tops. Though I must say, I wasn't overly impressed with either track so maybe I gave them the one shot test and they failed so I never went back. I do remember "Head Down" though from Superunknown. That's a good tune.

Re: Your top 5
Does anyone NOT like "Messages"? How in the hell did that song not make Libertad, or at least get released in some format?
My guess is... Scott killed it. Slash was really proud of the song, he mentioned it in interviews. As far as I know it became a Guitar Hero song later. Shame it didn't make the album.
