Yeah, that's where the real hangup is. Even with old Gunners who don't like CD... TWAT is their favorite.
TWAT is the most well-received song on the album across the board, yet rarely gets played. It's a technically hard song to play live, but hey, the old band did Estranged for two years, there's no reason, if these new guys are "more talented", that they couldn't make TWAT a regular staple of the set.

It's too hard for Axl to sing on a nightly basis. I think his voice is what makes the setlist. Some nights you may get one or two songs that Axl feels up too. It's not the band it's Axl. So the estranged reference holds no water because everyone knows this line up can play just about anything they want too. It's weather Axl at 48 can sing the songs people want to hear more.

Absolutely. That beginning of TWAT is hard as hell to sing. There's almost no pauses to take a breath. Unfortunately it IS a great song and is well received, but it's also probably the hardest song to perform live that they've attempted. The band sounds great on it, I haven't heard a version where Axl sounds great. He has his moments on it, but I haven't heard one where he's been great throughout.

nobody is more talented than any body else as far as I can see. The old band was great....the new band is finally strutting their stuff. Axl has surrounded himself with quality through every incarnation. Now, whether or not you like the recorded material, is a different story. You certainly cannot argue with the 87-91 lineup's records. Live, I think the current group is as good as any prior incarnation.

I still love Guns N' Roses. I would just like to see them cut a new record. I went through my "live" phase during the Bucket-era, and most of 2006... i've just kind of moved on.
If GN'R aren't producing studio material, there's other bands out there that are, that are gonna get my attention more.
That's just where i'm at with it. I think it's the end of my 'fanboy' days with GN'R.
I'd love to see the 2009-10 band cut a record, and see what they've got on an album level. And I don't mean recycling 8 year old Bucket material.

i agree with axlin to an extent. we didn't hear some of the cd songs in 06 that we are hearing this time around so I will contune to check out boots and I will go see them when they come to the states for that reason along with the excitement of seeing one of the greatest performers and vocalists of all time. but that will defintely tide me over to the next record. gnr is definitely firing on all cyliners and dj clearly fits this band perfectly. all that is missing is new material with the same band playing it live that wrote and recorded it. now is not the time for that but it would be in gnr's best interest to make that move within the next 1 - 2 years.

Actually, according to ASCAP, Bucket only has 4 writing credits for Gnr whereas these guys plus Axl all have more...

THUS,in reality, this latest incarnation will more than likely be recycling Paul Tobias, Dizzy Reed, Robin Finck and Tommy Stinson tracks. 
The Bucket card gets played a little too often.
