Re: Some GNR FB pics

Post of the year.
I might talk to the guy, but I don't need my picture with Del James... or frankly anybody other than Axl or Dizzy in this "band".
I think that taking photos with the son and daughter of Axl's assistant (ex-housekeeper) is the most pathetic thing you can do on this planet. Second is having a Peter Andre tattoo.

Why wouldn't you just get a pic with Mickey because he's a good actor and cool motherfucker?
That's my point Bri.
The only reason to get your picture with Mickey Rourke, is on Mickey's own merits. The only reason to get your picture with Del James, is you love his writing.
Not because of any GN'R-related reason.

I think that taking photos with the son and daughter of Axl's assistant (ex-housekeeper) is the most pathetic thing you can do on this planet.
If we take this back a step though. The people taking these pictures are clearly huge GNR fans, and Axl is very famous, and to a fan of someone very famous that person becomes like a type of superhero.
Then...the public absence of Axl for so many years during the CD saga, and some of the dramas, sort of created a mythology surrounding the band. By extension this also involved those close to him. Basicly a commic book universe is created around the superhero.
To take my analogy further. Let's say comics were real. You might get the chance to meet batman, why not get a picture taken with alfred too? Or if you meet superman, why not get a quick pick with Jimmy Olsen or that dude that runs the daily planet as well? If you are fans of not just the actual superhero but the universe in which they do their thing?
No one would suggest that Beta or Del or any of the extended GNR family so to speak are as important as Axl Rose. And I don't think that the fans who took their pictures would be *as* excited to meet them, but on some level the fact remains, you know their real names, you know who they are because of their association to Axl, whereas most of us don't know each other's real names on here. So i can see why some people would enjoy meeting Axl's friends as an extension to meeting Axl himself. And given this kind of exposure to Axl's world (or indeed any famous person's close knitt enviroment) is going to be very temporary for the average fan, why not take some pics to remember the special night you had with them.
I can't see a problem with it. I'm pretty sure i'd have my camera out if I was hanging out with this crew. Nothing is as cool as meeting Batman, but it's also kind of cool to meet some of the more "bit" players from DC comics too!

That pic with Ron and the baby is adorable...how cute is that baby!!! Although I don't know if I'd want my kid in that tight of a crowd.

lol - I'm with you Faldor I would get my pic taken with her for purely non GNR related reasons.
Hell yeah. GNR would just be an excuse to talk to her and get her to take a picture with me. And I'd fully use it to my advantage.
