I think they are friends because above it all, Del is an Axl "yes" man ahd he also seems to hate Slash because Axl does. Not because of something Slash did to him, or something he came up with on his own. Del still pushes that damn book too yada, yada, yada. I am glad Axl still has him as a friend. Same for Beta, they have been there for Axl for a very long time. Doesn't make Del cool, just makes him Axl's friend. That is cool.

Del was very close to Todd Crew and was upset at what Slash wrote in his book about his death. The story prior to the book was that Slash bailed after Todds OD, or they put him to bed first and then Slash bailed.
But in Slash's book, if I remember right, he changed the story to how, despite all his desperate efforts to save him, his best friend in the world Todd died in his arms that night.

Leave Del alone. Jesus people. You have no clue what's his involvment/non involment/Axl relationship is. You may think you do, but at least lay off the cheap insults. It makes you look like jealous dorks. Just because he's his friend and stick with him, he got his head up his ass? Up the discussion a bit.

For the record: The videos are based on Del's short story - not the songs - let's just get that straight.
And those were some damn good videos. So without Del, we might not have gotten them.
The only thing I can say is I personally wouldn't get my picture taken with Del because I'm quite sure I wouldn't recognize him. And even if someone told me it was him, I'm not sure that would entice me. Maybe I'd ask him a question about Axl that he would inevitably not answer.
But I don't see the need or reason to dump on the man and call him a "hanger on". Uncalled for. And if some fans want to get their pictures taken with them, then so be it. It's their god given right. People fawn all over Paris Hilton and the likes and they are only famous for being famous. Del has infinite talent compared to people like them. So who the hell cares?
