He will perform 3 shows with The Psychedelic Furs on the following dates:
29 DEC SAN FRANCISCO (The Mezzanine)
30 DEC LOS ANGELES (Key Club)
31 DEC SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (Oaks Blenheim Center)

Even though I am not a Fortus fan, that Mezz show is tempting. Its a great club(saw M.I.A. there last month).
I'll be skipping it though. All three times this year I went to Frisco to see M.I.A, I wound up spending money on frivolous things. Can't afford to do that this month.
One thing these tour dates do is preemptively kill off any rumors of a surprise New Year's Eve GNR performance somewhere.
Unless Paul Huge is back.:haha:

The shows have been canceled. I'm glad I didn't buy tickets to that Frisco show. I would have been pissed.
In years past, something like this would have fueled the flames of rumors that GNR are going to do something spectacular on New Year's Eve.
Now everyone is so apathetic to it all, no one blinks an eye.

It is actually a bit suspect....
Fortus is a pro musican and kinda unlikely to cancel without a good reason i would have thought.
Which makes me think either its GNR or some kind of family reason or something.
I hate to be a wanker and start up inuendo...but in theory if the label did have the album and was planning on a 2008 release a secret NYE show with some new tracks or something would be a cool way to start up a bit of fresh buzz.
Maybe i'm dreaming though!

We're a couple days away from NYE and not a peep about a show. Playing new tracks to a public that has no clue its happening isn't going to accomplish anything.
That hand was played in 01.
Its not happening.
It is odd that he would cancel, but could be many other reasons. Maybe the shows were selling poorly. Its the flu season so maybe a band member was very sick.
